Quantity Surveyors – What does your future look like following your current project?.....   It’s something I hear a lot when I speak with candidates within the construction industry, and I do understand that it’s unavoidable sometimes.    Contractor wins a project in a new location so recruits across the board in order to carry out the works and complete.   They have a big push for further projects in that area but are not successful.   That project finishes and with no further works in the area the team are offered the next best location where a role is available …. This can sometimes mean an impossible daily commute and the need to now lodge away from family all week…   Or leave and find a new role… not ideal.   But I want to repeat, this is the construction industry and I know it is unavoidable sometimes.       What if you worked for a business who only work in one region of the UK so you know your next project will be commutable?   And offered 3 days remote working at a minimum?   Oh … and have a large order book secured, with new projects coming in (to that area) all the time…?   If you’re looking for longer term security within your next role and are based in the South East.
