“Embarrassment is the cost of entry. If you aren't willing to look like a foolish beginner, you'll never become a graceful master” (Ed Latimore) I often think about this quote in relation to coach training on our Practitioner and our PCC-level Professional Practitioner Diplomas AoEC - The Academy of Executive Coaching It's not that the aim is to make people feel embarrassed! Rather, learning something new can often involved unlearning something old (like advice-giving, or thinking that coaching means mentoring). Coach training can also lead to discovering there's more to coaching than meets the eye... Just how deep can your silences be?; how can you take your listening and presence to a new level?; what happens to your awareness, as you open up to the significance of culture and identity in coaching the whole person? - the 'who are you' of the client. In my eight years so far of delivering AoEC programmes, I've found that any embarrassment is short-lived, and people get quickly into discovering what they can learn. My own ego-burn moment on the Practitioner was discovering the importance of the sponsor: how could I have been coaching in organisations and have been blind to this essential dynamic?😔 Ah well. I survived the embarrassment, and got on with the learning. If you're an ICF coach, you would've obviously heard of CCEs. (CCE = Continuing Coach Education) These are important because if you want to renew your current credentials, you need to have accumulated 40 CCEUs over a course of the previous 3 years. And you can get your CCEUs by: - Attending ICF Conferences - Showing up for ICF Chapter events - Going through certain Masterclasses on Core Competencies But here's what most coaches don't know about CCEs. If you understand the concept of CCE deeper, you wouldn't need to spend a fortune on getting your coaching education done from a coach training institute. There's another cheaper, more flexible approach to getting your coaching education done and it's known as the Portfolio Path. The Portfolio Path lets you pick and choose your CCE from various sources: - ICF Conferences - Chapter Events - ICF Accredited Programs - Non-ICF Accredited Programs ...and a bunch of other sources to create a path that works best for you! I'm going to be giving away all the secrets regarding the Portfolio Path and more in my Delhi Meet Up event on 16th March. If you want to learn more about it, the registration link is in the comments.

Aspire Coach Training believes that as coaches we need to role model what we are asking the coachee to do. We need to be willing to develop curiosity about ourselves, explore what gets in our way and what beliefs we might need to let go of so we can grow into our full potential. If we are to authentically sit in front of a coachee supporting and challenging them to move towards what they want, we need to have experienced the courage and vulnerability on that same journey. The embodiment of a coaching mindset happens when we have integrated our learning, believe we are creative, resourceful and whole and that we have untapped potential. We also need to be committed to on-going development as a coach so that we can be as ethical and professional in how we work so that coaching is seen as a credible profession. Finally, to be at our best as coaches we need to take time to critically reflect after coaching sessions and when needed, access the support and guidance of a coach supervisor. It is vital in the work that we do that we focus on our self-care so that we are resourced and can provide a quality of presence and being when we are with our coaches. Reach out today if you are interested in our Autumn ICF Level 1 programme, we have only two places left. I’m excited to share that I’m offering mentor coaching! A coach contacted me to help with her ICF video submission and wow, it planted a seed. I loved working with her, so I made it a thing. Whether you're working towards ICF certification or looking to enhance your practice with YouMap®, I'm here to support you on your journey. As a fellow coach, I've been in your shoes – navigating the exciting (and often overwhelming) world of coaching. My approachable and supportive style creates a relaxed, judgment-free zone where we can dive into ICF competencies or YouMap®. Together, we'll celebrate your strengths, gently nudge growth areas, and turn coaching challenges into 'aha!' moments, one session at a time. Here's what one coach had to say: "Nicholle has a calm and friendly presence and a knack for helping me understand areas for improvement in line with the ICF competencies during each session. She explains everything beautifully. I feel markedly less overwhelmed, and my confidence in my ability to complete this certification process is renewed. We cover a lot of ground in one hour, and I always leave feeling that it was a valuable use of my time." -Laura G. I'm passionate about making our sessions valuable, efficient, and confidence-boosting. Let's collaborate to take your coaching skills to the next level! Interested? Check out my services: https://lnkd.in/gdXfgeZj Each option comes with a useful free download: Option 1: Coaching Essence Mini-Assessment Option 2: Study guide to support you toward a solid video submission for certification I'm excited to connect and support you in your professional growth. #CoachingForCoaches #ICFCertification #YouMap #ProfessionalDevelopment #miniassessment #ICFstudyguide
