Aspire Coach Training believes that as coaches we need to role model what we are asking the coachee to do. We need to be willing to develop curiosity about ourselves, explore what gets in our way and what beliefs we might need to let go of so we can grow into our full potential. If we are to authentically sit in front of a coachee supporting and challenging them to move towards what they want, we need to have experienced the courage and vulnerability on that same journey. The embodiment of a coaching mindset happens when we have integrated our learning, believe we are creative, resourceful and whole and that we have untapped potential. Living Joyfully (1) One of the participants in this last Solution Focus Coaching training of the year has attended my same but shorter coaching training as a middle manager in his school. He is doing the training again for credits towards ICF certification now. After the 3 days training, he said he learnt something new. As a teacher, he noticed for one slide the colours could have been better and he has told me about it a few years ago in his school. However, this seemingly “imperfect” choice of colours pales in comparison with the authenticity with which the training was facilitated. It was like nobody in the group cares about how sleek the slides must look. Everyone is connected in a deep way and the learning and mindset shift is taking place. I’m 62. At this age you have no time to waste by trying to impress people who doesn’t care about what you do. I had rather be doing work I considered are what really matters - relationships. Authenticity comes from doing and becoming what you cared about most. When what you train is how you live, change happens. It also draws those with similar vision in life together and in a deep way. Those who attended my trainings are either educators or those who are connected to the Dads for Life circles. I recently embarked on my formal coaching education with the "MASTERY in Life & Business COACHING" program at Coaching.LT, accredited by the International Coaching Federation. While the program is filled with valuable insights, a seemingly mundane moment has left a lasting impression on me. Picture this: I'm standing in front of a coffee machine, waiting patiently after pressing the button, oblivious to the fact that I needed to insert a coffee capsule. Enter Povilas Petrauskas, MCC, our Master Jedi coach leading the course. After a quick explanation, I thanked him, mentioning how long I might have stood there without his help. His response? "No worries, I have already done the standing." This simple exchange encapsulates the essence of learning and teaching for me: We all must put in the hours to internalize information and experiences. Having a master of the craft beside us dramatically increases our effectiveness. A guide shows the way and gives us the courage to face challenges. This coffee machine moment reminded me of the immense value that experienced mentors and coaches bring to our personal and professional development journeys. We've also had a lot of questions about our Emotions Coaching Practitioner Training. This is a course for coaches who are already trained. You need to have completed your coach training to come on this program. If you haven't got signed off or accredited yet - that's ok. This program will also help towards your accreditation. The reason you need to have completed coach training is because you need to have a fundamental understanding of coaching, contracting, ethics and have experience of coaching clients. Many of our learners are choosing to join us on the Emotions Coaching programme as a follow on to their coach training and we're in full support of this.
