At TimberWay we believe that.. Due to substantial reduction in waste and pollution, sustainable packaging is essential for the environment. Conventional packaging materials, such as plastic, add to the expanding waste problem by frequently ending up in landfills and the ocean, where their long half-lives can ruin ecosystems and cause harm to wildlife. By decreasing waste volume and encouraging resource conservation, sustainable packaging—made of recyclable, biodegradable, or compostable materials—minimizes this impact. It also lessens the need for fossil fuels and other non-renewable resources, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions and preserves natural resources. Ultimately, circular economies and a healthier Earth for coming generations are promoted by sustainable packaging. #sustainable #packaging #ecofriendly #gogreen #savenature

Day 28: Recognizing Environmental Signs and Symbols In a world striving for environmental sustainability, recognizing and understanding key environmental symbols is a step toward making better, greener choices. These symbols serve as universal guides, helping us understand how to dispose of items, identify recyclable materials, and find products that support sustainable practices. Here are a few symbols to know and act on: Recycle Symbol: The classic three-arrow triangle indicates that an item is recyclable. Check the numbers inside the triangle on plastics to determine the type of plastic, as some are more recyclable than others. Green Dot: Often seen on packaging in Europe, this dot doesn’t mean the item is recyclable; instead, it shows that the producer has financially supported recycling initiatives. Trash Bin / Do Not Litter: This symbol, which often shows a person tossing waste into a bin, encourages proper waste disposal to reduce littering and environmental pollution. Biohazard and Hazard Symbols: These warn us about potentially harmful substances. Proper handling and disposal of these materials prevent environmental contamination and protect public health. Energy Star: For electrical appliances, this symbol means the product meets strict energy efficiency standards, helping to reduce your carbon footprint. Water Sense: Found on water-efficient products, this EPA-issued label ensures lower water consumption, preserving this essential resource. Forest Stewardship Council (FSC): This logo indicates that paper and wood products come from responsibly managed forests, which helps combat deforestation. The Mobius Loop: Three arrows forming a loop indicate recyclability, sometimes with a percentage showing recycled content. Understanding these symbols helps you make informed, eco-friendly choices in your daily life. Every time you purchase, dispose of, or choose to use an item responsibly, you contribute to a cleaner, healthier planet. Today, make it a goal to recognize these symbols in your surroundings! Share photos of the symbols you come across and tag our page. As a small step, start choosing products with these marks whenever possible. Encourage friends and family to follow these signs and symbols too—together, we can create a stronger culture of environmental responsibility. #30daysofgreenlivingchallenge #theenvironmental #environmentalsymbols

When choosing between plastic and paper bags, it's crucial to consider their environmental impacts. Plastic bags may be recyclable, but they take years to decompose in the soil, posing significant threats to wildlife and contributing to long-term pollution. In contrast, paper bags are made from renewable resources and decompose naturally within a few weeks, returning nutrients to the soil and reducing their environmental footprint. By opting for paper bags, you support a more sustainable choice that helps protect our planet and promotes a healthier ecosystem. Switch to paper bags and contribute to a cleaner, greener future. #WeCareWeAct Our green commitments for a sustainable future 🌍 How can we create floors, walls & finishes, whilst preserving our planet? The answer? With our "We Care, We Act" sustainable policy. We have put in place a number of commitments to reduce our carbon impact by 2025. Focus on 5 of our major daily actions: 1️⃣ The quest for zero carbon: We have installed solar panels at many of our manufacturing sites. Our products are transported using natural gas lorries. Over 50% of products sold are produced locally on each continent. 2️⃣ Recycled content in our products: Nothing is lost, everything is transformed! We give materials a second life by incorporating recycled content into our new products. Our sample cards are recycled to! 3️⃣ Recycling target: We are working towards "zero waste" factories. With our "Second Life" program, your old floors become tomorrow's raw materials. 4️⃣ Adhesive free products: Gerflor has 30 product ranges that can be installed loose lay. No need for adhesives, less CO² and more opportunities for re-use. 5️⃣ Biobased content: We are developing and researching more biobased ingredients that combine performance and respect the environment. Preserving the environment is a top priority for us, we continuously seek for solutions that promote sustainable development. 👉 Read our latest CSR report here for further information - https://lnkd.in/ef9sqf6J #WeCareWeAct #RSE #SustainableDevelopment #EnvironmentalCommitment #CSR #BiobasedContent #RecycledContent #CarbonImpact

What Are Environmentally Friendly Habits and How Can We Adopt Them? Environmentally friendly habits are actions we take in our daily lives that help protect the planet and reduce our carbon footprint. These small changes collectively make a big impact, promoting sustainability and reducing waste. Simple habits like conserving water, using reusable bags, minimizing plastic use, and opting for energy-efficient appliances can lead to a healthier environment. One key aspect of being eco-friendly is reducing waste through recycling and composting. By properly disposing of items like paper, plastic, and organic materials, we can minimize the waste that ends up in landfills. Another important habit is conserving energy by turning off lights when not in use, using LED bulbs, and investing in renewable energy sources like solar power. Transportation choices also matter. Walking, cycling, carpooling, or using public transport instead of driving a personal car can significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions. Supporting local and organic food sources also contributes to environmental health by reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation and industrial farming.
