The MDDA's Research on the Sustainability Model for Community & Small Commercial Media revealed that, despite over two decades of development efforts, only 7% of respondents considered their organisations sustainable, while 74% rated them as partially sustainable, and 19% not sustainable. Community media plays a vital role in keeping people informed, amplifying local voices, sharing timely news, and fostering connections within neighbourhoods. It's the heartbeat of informed and engaged communities. However, they receive minimal support (if any) from advertisers.
