I recently had the esteemed pleasure to talk with Kait Gannon and Laurie Krull, co-hosts of the podcast “The Ugly Truth About The Girl Next Door”. If you don’t know Kait’s story yet, you really should. She’s endured more trauma than any human souls ought ever bear, and she’s dedicated her life to exposing The Ugly Truth, by raising awareness of, and combating, Family Controlled Trafficking and Sexual Abuse. In this episode, we talk about NY State laws regarding child abuse, and the need for reform. https://lnkd.in/eC2nWusA

The opportunity to discuss domestic violence with Simone O'Brien was an honour. If you think domestic violence does not affect you... consider how 1 in 5 Australians have experienced violence, emotional abuse or economic abuse by a partner. Statistically, if this hasn't affected you, it will have for someone in your inner circle. Simone's warmth and relatability made this conversation easy. If we all approached sensitive topics with this kind of empathy, we might feel more at ease to have these hard conversations more regularly. More conversations, better awareness, greater odds at standing up and stopping domestic violence.

I’ve just released my latest book, ‘Narcissists in Divorce: From Leaving to Liberty - The Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing But The Truth’. In it I speak out about the injustices of the inaptly named family justice system, when it comes to cases involving #domesticabuse, #narcissisticabuse and #coercivecontrol. I have learnt a huge amount about such legal abuse since the publication of the first book I was involved in (Divorcing a Narcissist: The Lure, the Loss and the Law). As a result, I felt compelled to properly address the true dangers of the #familycourt, and give guidance as to how to try to avoid the pitfalls. My new book (the second in my Narcissists in Divorce series) as well as being an exposé, is an in-depth holistic guide. It tackles how to divorce a #narcissist and minimise (and deal with) post-separation abuse. The fact is that the systems that victim-survivors hoped would be their protection actually become weaponised against them. Although my clients are mostly based in the UK, these systemic failures occur worldwide, and so the more noise we all make about this, the better. I am therefore really pleased to see that these issues are also being highlighted by Dr. Christine Marie Cocchiola and Amy Polacko in the USA, in their forthcoming book. I cannot wait to read it. Congratulations ladies, and thank you. #NPD #Narcissism #familycourt #lawfare #legalabuse #postseparationabuse #Amazon #Narcissists #divorce

Family Court - **NEW PODCAST EPISODE** In my latest Podcast episode of "Fake Love and Flying Monkeys " I was honoured to be joined by Dr. Christine Marie Cocchiola and Amy Polacko to discuss their highly anticipated book, soon to hit the shelves, "Framed - Women in the Family Court Underworld ". In their book, Dr. Christine and Amy Polacko expose the disturbing realities within the family court system, which highlight the struggles of mothers facing coercive control and narcissistic abuse. Learn how abusers manipulate the system and why family court often fails to protect victims. Tune in for an eye-opening conversation that aims to inspire change and support those impacted by these injustices. Nova. 🎙️ New Podcast Episode Alert! 🎙️ In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I had an impactful conversation with Melissa Prentice from Bay Area Turning Point, Inc. on the MAMI on a Mission Podcast. We discussed a critical issue—how individuals and communities can better support survivors and help prevent domestic violence. Melissa shared key insights, particularly emphasizing the importance of not putting limits on your support for someone experiencing abuse. She highlighted a sobering truth: urging someone to leave an abusive situation without the proper support or planning can be incredibly dangerous. In fact, statistics from the Texas Council on Family Violence's latest report show that 52% of intimate partner homicides in 2023 occurred after the survivor had taken steps to leave. Melissa underscored the value of empathy and understanding the complexities behind why someone may stay. Instead of pushing for immediate action, the most powerful thing we can do is connect survivors with professional organizations like Bay Area Turning Point, where they can receive safety planning and the resources needed to navigate their way out safely. Listen to the full episode and learn how we can make a difference in the fight against domestic violence. Together, we can offer survivors the support they truly need. 💜 Listen on https://lnkd.in/geNFg_bC #DomesticViolenceAwareness #SupportSurvivors #MAMIonaMission #Empathy #SafetyPlanning #EndAbuse #CommunitySupport
