In 2023, we launched an incredible partnership with leading children's and young people’s #cancer charities Young Lives vs Cancer, Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG), the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust and Teenage Cancer Trust, to apply an Integrated Approach to #research and #systems change with #children and young people with cancer experience. This has been an exciting project for multiple reasons: ⚫ We assisted the Partnership to think systemically about their best role in ⚫ supporting children and young people with cancer. ⚫ The research was co-designed with and for the communities, young people and families with cancer experience and system professionals. ⚫ Together, we produced the largest survey ever conducted on psychosocial needs of cancer care for children and young people and their families, and now have clear learning for the response #strategy. Healthcare Equity is IMPERATIVE...Susan G. Komen understands this fully: CURRENT DATA SHOWS THAT BLACK WOMEN IN THE U.S. ARE ABOUT 40% MORE LIKELY THAN WHITE WOMEN TO DIE OF BREAST CANCER. That’s simply unacceptable. To gain a better understanding of the existing barriers that drive these inequities, Komen worked directly with the Black community to launch a multiyear analysis of 10 metropolitan areas that experience the largest gaps in mortality between Black and white women. In 2021, Komen published the results of this analysis in Closing the Breast Cancer Gap: A Roadmap to Save the Lives of Black Women in America, a series of reports that found Black women are often ignored by their health care providers and face significant barriers to receiving the care they need due to a legacy of systemic racism, implicit bias and below standard care. #healthequity #healthcare #breastcancer #cancer #oncology #pharmaceuticalindustry #nonprofit #foundations #fundraising #healthcareaccess

I would like to personally thank everyone who took the time to vote for me this weekend, where 1 vote counted as 2. And I was able to help raise money for the Breast Cancer Foundation with Fab Over 40 contest. The voting continues. This year, since May, my father passed away from pancreatic cancer and two dear friends of ours from other cancers. And I have a family member who has been battling with prostate cancer for years. It matters alot to help continue the research for the wide range of cancers that affect so many people. 💚 I chose to enter this contest because I believe passionately in their mission. If I were to win this competition - I would use the $40,000 in the following way: ✳ 1st a donation to the organization I'm representing. ✅ 2nd - I would be able to have the investment I need to launch our on line course in 2025 called "How to create your Mindful Career...Intentionally." ❇ 3rd - I want to set up a foundation/scholarship program with this course to beable to help as many people as I can with their career transitions. 💛 I believe in possibilites!
