My favorite driver on the grid, Carlos Sainz 🇪🇸 , just signed with Williams Racing for the 2025 season & beyond. So, how is Williams trying to get a leg up to help my favorite driver win? This partnership with Komatsu is interesting. Through the partnership, the two will foster long-term engineering and technology development (engineering talent is the 🔑 ). They will also further develop carbon-neutral technologies together, as Formula 1 goes net zero by 2030.

F1 is back in full swing! We once again can watch outstanding engineering push machines around the track at a blistering pace. What can we learn from F1 to apply to manufacturing… let’s look at the pit stop. 1️⃣ The average pit stop took almost 10 seconds in 1980 and today roughly 2.25 seconds - 24 years of continuous improvement at work 2️⃣ A new world record was set by McLaren at 1.8 seconds - yea that’s fast! 3️⃣ Each team can have up to 22 people supporting the pit stop How can we translate to performance in manufacturing? ☑️ Relentless practice of their craft - be the very best at what you do ☑️ Each member is clear on their assignments and the order of which they are performed ☑️ Rally around a single shared purpose - a team all pushing in the same direction Lastly… and the most important, celebrating the wins and pick each other up when mistake are made! It’s the sum of a team continually and tirelessly working toward something bigger that the total equates to amazing results. Will you follow Manufacturing Media?
