The Make a Change program in Newcastle offers support to individuals worried about their behavior towards partners, aiming to prevent domestic abuse. Led by local charities Harbour and Changing Lives, the program targets perpetrators or potential perpetrators, offering a 26-week group session to understand and change harmful behavior. As a charity organisation dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic abuse, we wholeheartedly support the Make a Change programme recently launched in Newcastle. This initiative represents a crucial step forward in addressing the root causes of domestic abuse and preventing its devastating consequences. For too long, the focus has primarily been on supporting survivors, which is undeniably important. However, to truly make a lasting impact and break the cycle of abuse, it's important to address the behaviors of perpetrators as well. The Make a Change programme provides an opportunity for individuals who recognise harmful patterns in their behavior to seek help and make positive changes before it's too late. Our weekly meeting is almost here so what better time than a quick reminder that our speaker this week is Christine Morgan from eve Domestic Abuse. #BNIIgnite #Northampton #BusinessNetworking #BNI #TransformingLivesRestoringHope
At next weeks meeting we are having a presentation from Christine Morgan from the charity eve Domestic Abuse. Over the last few months Christine has shared various interesting facts about the number of domestic abuse cases and what external factors are likely to cause an increase in them. Being able to spot the signs of Domestic Abuse and knowing who to speak to are important skills that everyone should have as it's not just a case of someone having a blackeye that shows they are a victim. If you'd like to know more then come along to see Christine's talk next week, an invite is just a message away, or give their page a like. And because a picture is always helpful for attention, here's another of Lee doing #ToughMudder to raise money for eve Domestic Abuse. #BNIIgnite #BNI #Northampton #Northamptonshire #TransformingLivesRestoringHope #BusinessNetworking

With suicide rates at over 6000 in England and Wales and rising at 6% per year, with most being preventable, there has never been a more important time to support those looking to make that difference. At Slow the Mind CIC we are looking to buy a bus so that we can take help and support right into the heart of our communities. We are working in partnership with the Baton of Hope, the UK's leading suicide Prevention Charity and together we need to raise £30,000. Please help us fund that bus and put colour on it, so that we can save lives. Our bus fare days start tomorrow, please join us, KMFM, Squiggle Consulting and Dragon Co working, among others in achieving that GOAL. Message me for details. Thank you. #suicideprevention #mentalhealth #mentalwellbeing #positivity #batonofhope #slowthemind Jayne Ellie Mike Dr. Blessing Darren Brian Yvonne Gaynor Kaz Victoria

NPCC and College of Policing have said, "violence against women and girls had reached 'epidemic' levels." Their report estimated that one in 20 adults - or 2.3 million people - were perpetrators of violence against women and girls every year in the UK. "Nobody in industry and in other sectors and across the public understands just the scale and impact of these crimes." ____ Let that sink in.... That's why we are committed to our campaign Home is Where the Harm is! So far we've raised with the National Benevolent Charity over £19,000, that is already with Women and Children looking to escape and rebuild lives after suffering from domestic abuse. The money goes from donation to local cashpoints for victims to claim. That's a UK-wide first for supporting victims! This also can be with them within hours of the NBC becoming aware of the situation. We've now seen 96 victims supported in under a month. The challenge is that the donations have already run dry, so we're calling on companies and those in charge of budgets to help make donations to our cause, like British Airways has already. We us these donations to double the pledges made by the public. So that charities like NBC can help people quickly and try to make a positive dent in these horror statistics. Here's Ali Russell to introduce why this is so important. #Charity #DomesticAbuse #Women #Children

There have been a lot of tragic news headlines of fatalities from domestic violence. Every single domestic abuse situation has the potential to become lethal. There are also cases that have been flagged as High Lethality Risk by the police or prosecutor offices. Control Alt Delete facilitates on average 30 escapes from domestic violence every day with 1-4 of those escapes being flagged as a High Lethality Risk. We are currently working on 7 High Lethality Risk escapes from domestic violence. 7 escapes that without help from Control Alt Delete could mean these Survivors could become a news headline. Your support ensures Control Alt Delete has the ability to help Survivors escape in the immediate time of need. For the 7 High Lethality Risk escapes we are doing right now the cost to Control Alt Delete is $4138.96 and this is in addition to the other escapes in the works. $4138.96 to keep all of these Survivors from becoming a news headline. 7 Survivors 22 children 9 pets You can be the hero that helps these Survivors escape to their safety by donating to Control Alt Delete: Venmo to ControlAltDelete (6963) CashApp $DVControlAltDelete Visit https://lnkd.in/gj79A9Ab $1 of every dollar goes directly to getting Survivors to their safety in our 100% volunteer run nonprofit. Human trafficking is born out of and survives on a multitude of factors and systemic failures making it difficult to eradicate. Daughters of Charity in Ecuador understand the solution is not simple and cannot be done alone. Together with local, national, and international actors, Sisters in Ecuador have built a diverse network of organizations to combat human trafficking. A program collaborator reflects on their experience, “The religious and spiritual touch inserted with the presence of the '[Daughters of Charity]' has given strength, forcefulness, value to many of the actions we have taken. I think, without anyone saying it, that the fact they are here has been, for other organizations or for the institutions, a guarantee that the things are real and are going to be achieved.” Together with these collaborators, Sisters have been able to develop programs like business management and entrepreneurship training, human trafficking awareness workshops, gender-based violence prevention workshops, and many others. These programs have had profound impacts on the community, allowing those who live there to grow and thrive. Donate and support ministries of Daughters of Charity around the world.
