I was in Shock… While on the page I spoke about yesterday, I saw something that I felt was unforgivable. Not just that it was unforgivable but that business is obviously leaving loads of money on the table. So here was what I noticed… They had a call to action button at the top of the site "Book Now" And that same button after they said the first statement you see when you land on their homepage. I tapped it and it took me to their price option… And I was shocked 😲 Price option? You mean, you have no plans to keep the details of those who come to your website? My goodness! No form to include details… No subscription to an email list? Nothing. Just buy? Lol I found that very amusing. But then, why was it important to get their details? Truth is… They may NEVER visit your site again. Meaning you've lost them. And that would have been a great opportunity to turn a traffic that you don't control into a traffic you own. So you can place them in your email list where you can always have access to them. Please, don't make such unforgivable mistake in your business. I believe I’ve saved the best for last, and it can be summed up as follows: It’s not about you. I’m always surprised when I come across business websites, brochures and other marketing materials that start by talking about the company in question. It's all I, we and us. There’s details about what the firm does, how long it’s being doing it for, and how good they are at it. It’s far more effective to talk about the potential customer. Start off by showing you understand why they are reading. Make it clear you recognise the pain point that has persuaded them to open your page, or pick up your flyer. Make that all-important initial emotional connection. Then you can explain the reasons why you are perfectly placed to ease that pain, to deliver the peace of mind they crave. You will have a far greater impact if you order your content that way round.
