The Future of Architecture
Delights of Architecture, 2024 "Projections", @galeriecharlot Paris, France May 30 - August 3, 2024 The exhibition curator @elisabethkarolyi writes: "The Pleasure of Architecture by Wolf dPrix is a metaphor for his creative process. Taking Jerome Bosch's Garden of Delights as a starting point, the architect refers to the importance of art in his personal life and in his architectural practice. A necessity in his view for anyone wishing to go beyond the strict confines of their discipline. The Garden of Delights could therefore be understood as a reference to the deconstructivist foundations of Coop Himmelb(l)au's work, namely the questioning of the principles that have, until then, guided architecture, an "emotional and unconscious revolt against rational logic" in the words of Wolf dPrix." A r t i c l e This year, ArchDaily, one of the world's leading online platforms for architecture and design, highlights the groundbreaking Kunsthaus Graz in their article, ‘Kunsthaus Graz: A Friendly Alien Among Historic Landmarks. ’ Designed by Peter Cook and Colin Fournier, this biomorphic masterpiece redefined contemporary architecture upon its debut in 2003 as part of #Graz's European Capital of Culture celebrations. For us, the Kunsthaus Graz represents a milestone in our history. Transforming its fluid, organic form into a structural reality posed extraordinary engineering challenges, pushing us to innovate and collaborate like never before. The result? A ‘Friendly Alien’ that seamlessly bridges historic #Graz with the future, proving how engineering can empower architecture to overcome boundaries. Imagine if the NEOM project could extend all the way to Palestine, reaching the Mediterranean Sea. This would connect the region not only to the eastern and western seas but also to the northern coast, creating a unique tri-sea corridor.
The architecture of #NEOM represents some of the most extraordinary man-made marvels on Earth. Join us on World Architecture Day as we celebrate some of Magna’s breathtaking testaments to human imagination and natural beauty.

Should a building be a world onto itself? Or should it relate to its context? Do the best buildings achieve both: create their own order and language while also addressing and even shaping their environment? Following the International Conferences on Architectural Criticism (2021), on Architectural Quality (2022), and on Architecture as Built Criticism (2023), the 2024 conference seeks papers that show how realized buildings stand in the autonomy and engagement debate. Denise Scott Brown and Álvaro Siza are already secured as participators.

I have always loved architecture inspired by Roman aqueducts because the curvilinear shapes create a relaxing rhythm.

Exploring the interplay between light, human behaviour, and biophilic design principles, we are excited to share a video interview with Clementine Fletcher-Smith (Rodgers), Partner at Speirs Major Light Architecture. Speirs Major is an independent, award-winning, international design practice that has used light and darkness to enhance the visual environment for more than 25 years. In this insightful conversation, Clementine discusses the impact of natural and artificial light, and the power of different wavelengths. Her expertise highlights the importance of thoughtful lighting design in creating harmonised spaces that connect us with nature. Clementine and Speirs Major are also featured in a case study section of our upcoming book "The Light Within Us", delving into the phycology of light and the transformative potential of it through the lens of biophilic design.
