We certified The Ivey's Hotel and they are great example 'how not to do dog friendly'. They barely scraped a C rank, scoring just 11 points out of 52. This is because they price gouge dog owners with unnecessarily steep fees while providing no services, amenities, or facilities for dogs in return, or even allowing them access to the wider hotel, and to make things worse they have a small weight limit meaning only very small dogs are welcome. We use hotels like this as an example of how not all dog friendly hotels are created equally, and how the words 'dog friendly' mean nothing unless they have been properly certified and ranked by an independent third party. A textbook example of a hotel that can be described as dog tolerant at best. You folks need to do better than this Kyle DeHont. https://lnkd.in/dt5i4qQi

#FantastyFriday – because it’s never not fun to travel virtually to end the week! This month, the month of SPRING BREAK, we are looking at some of the Best Airbnbs and Vacation Rentals in the World, According to Super-Travelers, courtesy of cntraveler.com . Holiday home in Rose Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada Colu Henry, the author of the new book Colu Cooks: Easy Fancy Food and founder of the Colu Cooks newsletter, spent the fall of 2020—including two weeks of quarantine—hiding out with her husband in this delightful cottage. The Salty Cribb, as it is nicknamed, has three bedrooms, each with its own fireplace, plus an eat-in kitchen and separate dining room and a front porch for saying hello to the neighbors, which Henry often did. “Its location is beautiful and a quick drive to Lunenburg for restaurants and shopping,” she says. “It's also near the glorious Hirtle's Beach in Kingsburg, which has a gorgeous cliff hike along the ocean.” . #fantasyfriday #rikdevoest #yvrrealtor #northvancouver #vancouver #westvancouver #vancity #northvan #britishcolumbia #vancouverrealestate #vancouverrealtor #vancouver #realestate #yvrrealestate #realtor #yvr #vancouverhomes #realestatevancouver #vancitybuzz #realestateagent #bcrealestate #westvancouverhomes #realtorlife #property #realestatemarket #exprealty

Travelers also create indirect business too! For example, there are roofers, plumbers, and cleaning companies servicing vacation rentals, or local food suppliers catering to restaurants. 🛠️🏡🍳 Thanks to visitor spending, Galveston can sustain dozens of great restaurants and attractions that us locals enjoy all year— making Galveston a great place to visit AND live. #LoveGalveston #TourismMatters

We certified the Catalonia Eixample 1864 Hotel, and it scored a failing F rank, making it a hotel to avoid for dog owners visiting Barcelona. Dogs are not allowed in the common areas, bars, and restaurants; they must stay in your room, meaning you cannot expect to enjoy this hotel with your dog. They fail to provide basic amenities like beds, food, and water bowls, and they have an absurd 20 Kg (40 pounds) weight limit that excludes our Labrador. They will also charge you a canine tax of €22 ($25) per night while offering nothing in return; this hotel should be ashamed to call itself dog-friendly. Deberían sentir vergüenza; un grupo tan importante como Catalonia Hotels & Resorts necesita hacerlo mejor Daniel Cortina Ullate y Felix Navas Marques. https://lnkd.in/dxn9V-pn
