Market rumors had been circulating, especially since the 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆. Until now, 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗱. With Superbet's move, it’s expected that more operators will begin their applications soon. 🤔 I personally predict that around 30 operators will submit their applications, a significant drop from the approximately 130 that initially showed interest. 👉 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 are the current laws, which are unclear about the specific requirements operators must meet. Breaking news. Brazil. Superbet Seeks Authorization to Operate in the Brazilian Market. The betting company is the second firm to apply for registration in the country. Superbet, a sponsor of several top-division clubs, has now applied to legally enter the online betting market. According to the Ministry of Finance regulations, the registration was filed last Thursday (11th). The application was submitted through the Betting Management System (Sigap), a public platform that allows for the monitoring and supervision of bets. Despite submitting a licensing request to the Ministry of Finance in August 2024, the company has chosen not to continue with the regulatory process. 🚫 💬 Users visiting the platform have been met with a message explaining the company's decision: “Dear Betway customers, unfortunately, we have decided not to proceed with acquiring the regulated license in Brazil. Some really interesting news coming out this morning from Earnings+More 1) Entain - the focus on BetMGM and US product delivery came at the expensive of leasing focus and share in a lot of other markets - 6% declines in the UK and Australia, 12% in the Netherlands, 14% in Brazil and 26% in Germany - aspirations to become a "broader interactive entertainment" was a distraction 2) SuperGroup (Betway Group and Spin) - US business under review after losing €57.4M in 2023 - Africa performing strong and making up 33% of revenue in Q4 2023 - close to acquiring sportsbook provider Apricot Software 3) Betr raised another $15m at $350m valuation (total raised to date $100m) despite struggling to gain meaningful marketshare and handle in any of their active markets
