Achieving excellence in both sports and academics is indeed an extraordinary feat! Contrary to the belief that excelling in sports hinders academic performance ( In Chinese we say " "Strong limbs, simple mind.") research suggests a positive relationship between sports participation and academic success. A groundbreaking study from the University of Sydney, published in the Journal of Physical Activity and Health, found a compelling link between sports involvement and academic achievement1. The research, which followed over 4000 children from age 4 through their teenage years, revealed that active participation in sports correlated with improved NAPLAN scores reduced absenteeism, and a higher likelihood of pursuing higher education.
For another year, OC Oscar Beard (North 2020) has been named in the England Rugby Six Nations Squad squad. Huge congratulations Oscar! It has been great to see Oscar's professional rugby journey with England flourish since leaving Cranleigh, and we wish him the best of luck. #SixNations #EnglandRugby #EnglandRugbySquad #ProfessionalRugby #Alumni #CranleighSchool #Cranleigh #IndependentSchool

I understand that World Rugby's supporters, players, coaches and pundits are happy and proud when their team wins. But is it not in the interest of these very people and the game itself, that poor and inconsistent officiating is recognised, improved and ultimately eradicated? Is winning a game of rugby really more important than ensuring that an equal contest and a fair result ensues by applying the officiating system and its processes the way it was designed and intended? How has this issue been so prominent in world rugby for the last decade without referees or the World Rugby Board being held accountable? Is it not obviously evident that it's ruining the sport?

Holy Schnikes!!! Check out this video from one of my Partners, and former captain of the #Springboks, at Elixirr!!! 20 seconds and quite the watch!
Love this clip from this weekend's rugby. What are they feeding these Springboks? 🤣 It takes 4 Portuguese men to bring RG Snyman down! Absolute unit! Jokes aside, it was a fantastic game from both sides. Portugal has come a long way with their rugby and put up a good fight. Rugby is getting bigger and bigger in Portugal, and we can see it clearly in their clubs like Agronomia and Belenenses. Although, even with a fresh set of faces, the Springboks still delivered a strong victory. 64-21 💪

For the past year, rugby legend Jonny Wilkinson CBE has been working with Attivo on a number of projects, involving our in-house team around setting and achieving our goals. Attivo Chairman Stephen Harper explains why Jonny – and his work with Attivo – works so well in enhancing how our planners approach working with our clients. “Jonny changed how rugby is played. He changed how important place kicking is in international rugby, and his coaching with players isn’t about working on their technique. It’s about how they think and feel, and his take on life completely aligns with how we view our role with our clients.” Doing things differently and achieving our goals: that’s what we’re about. #FinancialPlanning #NewYearNewGoals #AttivoLifestyle #2025Goals #whatmattersmost #lifestylefinancialplanning #financialplanning #Attivo

With the Six Nations rugby kicking off this weekend, it must be time for a reminder that... Bigger isn't always better! 🤷♂️ 🏉 OK, so we suspect Edinburgh Rugby skipper and Scottish international Sam Skinner *might* get the better of director Sean Harper on a rugby pitch, but we're certain that bigger isn't always better. Rugby aside, anyway... 🤭 We're a small business - that means we can offer a more personal service and build trusted relationships with our clients. As we get to know you, and you get to know us, we can ensure that you always have the right level of service to suit the needs of your business. Behind the scenes, our dedicated team work efficiently and effectively together, meaning that we can more easily manage your requirements and adapt quickly if these change. So, if it's a choice between a big faceless company or a trusted family business, we know who we'd choose! Now, who do you reckon will emerge victorious in this year's Six Nations Rugby, and who'll be taking home the wooden spoon? #PlumbingAndHeating #PropertyManagement #BusinessValues #Accountability #SME

The Rapids of todays reality means we are each dealing with pressure — every day. Maybe it’s not hitting the sales target- failing to get the business case across the line— losing your job in a restructure — being the one everyone relies on to say won’t others won’t -or- do well what others can’t — maybe it’s managing your emotions arriving home after a shit day on shift - perhaps not getting enough sleep from worrying about the change rumours at work … You get the picture … because you are living it. Just like these two champions of their craft - we all can be knocked off our personal center -and- we can also learn the skills to reduce its occurrence -- frequency and impact. … if you want to learn the exact skills of how to perform under pressure — your pressures that sometimes distract you from being your best … then give us call to see how we can make that happen for you. #red2blue

Pressure can break you or build you—it’s all in how you face it. Fascinated by the way pressure shapes performance, I’ve spent years preparing to harness it. SHINE THE LIGHT 🔦 Respect The Ref Check out an awesome feature piece put together by our Digital Marketing Executive Max Sharp. We wanted to shine the light on our North Harbour Rugby Referees Association (NHRRA) referees and start to change the negative narrative towards referees. Just like players, they: - Attend trainings to develop their skills - Review footage and their own performance to be better - Keep fit to ensure they can perform at a level - Have to hit certain fitness KPI's if they wish to progress through the ranks - Are assessed, coached, and developed by educators within the NHRRA community Finally, they are human beings, just like players. Let's think twice before we hurl negative abuse towards an official. Respect the ref.
Our North Harbour Rugby Referees put an incredible level of dedication into their match-day prep every week. Here we have Caleb Greaves, one of our Referees, explaining the work our Referees put into their performances every week. Respect the Ref. Absolutely.

A very disappointing day for rugby in Australia. It seems history is set to repeat itself with another Australian Super Rugby Team ceasing to exist. It is naive to think reducing the professional contracting opportunities by 20% will increase depth and competition. The NRL and AFL have 17 and 18 teams respectively, Rugby will have 4. Which code do you think juniors will steer towards? A 1/4 chance or a 1/17 or 1/18, less career opportunities will equal less depth as potential players seek certainty and better odds of making it professional. How could a governing body be ignorant to a franchise operating insolvent for multiple years? I question whether this failure of corporate governance raises more concerns for the future of professional rugby in Australia.
STATEMENT | RUGBY VICTORIA BOARD OF DIRECTORS Rugby Australia has made the heartbreaking decision to discontinue the Melbourne Rebels beyond the 2024 Super Rugby season. This decision has a significant impact on staff, families, players, fans, volunteers and elite pathways in Victoria. The hard work and dedication that has gone into the Melbourne Rebels behind the scenes over the past 14 years cannot be overstated and we extend our deepest sympathies to all during this difficult time. We must remember that the game of Rugby is built from the grassroots. It is about the people who play it, who administer it, who coach it and those who support it. Let's stand together now, more than ever, to support Victorian Rugby Union. #StrongerBindsVictoria #VicRugby #VicProud
