Faculty have a unique perspective that provides wisdom and expertise in practical uses of #technology in the classroom. But often they feel left out of #edtech conversations or are not given the opportunity to share their feedback. This creates more silos and often leads to a bloated technology infrastructure with apps that don't work together. 1EdTech Consortium #TrustEdApps program provides a way to bring faculty and administration together to collaboratively make decisions about technology that can support the mission of serving #students. Check out the Inside Higher Ed article about faculty tech burnout and pair that with some best practices from the 1EdTech Community- links in the first comment.

Today, I explored the Technology Integration Matrix (TIM)! 🚀 and found that it's a cool tool that helps teachers like me see how well we're using tech in classrooms to boost student learning. 📚💻 The TIM looks at five levels of tech use, from basic to super advanced, and also focuses on five key things for great learning: being active, working together, building stuff, using real-world stuff, and having clear goals. 🌟 It's like having a roadmap to make learning fun and effective! 🎯 Teachers can use the TIM to see what's working with tech and find ways to make learning even better for our awesome students. 🌈 Visit https://fcit.usf.edu/ to explore more about it. #EdTech #Education #TechIntegration #LearningJourney

Children need incredible teachers—I believe that with every fiber of my being. So why would I spend time & energy & money building a learning program that helps effective teachers find fulfillment and purpose OUTSIDE of the classroom? Because children need incredible technology, too. For #edtech to do what it should (transform the learning environments and experiences of our students), educators have to be on the front lines. They (we) have to be the ones listening to customer needs; building customer and user experiences; designing onboarding and ongoing training resources; etc etc etc. #transitioningteachers isn’t just a feel-good hashtag demanding respect ($$$) for a thankless profession. This is a group of people uniquely positioned to help edtech companies fulfill their dual mission of impact and revenue. These are the experts.

Administrators and teachers want #EdTech tool to be impactful. Often problems stand in the way of this goal: 💠 Too many features 💠 Keeping up with new features 💠 Leveraging capabilities within the curriculum/lesson plans 💠 No way to identify best practices that lead to impact 💠 Limited value creation for teachers or administrators My solution is to let schools decide which features to use and when to release them. This way schools can better schedule PD and spend time discussing how to integrate the tool into various grade levels and subject areas. Features that don't help a particular grade level or subject area can be suppressed and important capabilities highlighted.

The question on everyone's mind: Is there a need to integrate technology into education? Let's explore the facts! In today's fast-paced world, technology is more than a convenience; it's a necessity. It helps bridge gaps, making learning accessible and engaging. From interactive lessons to remote learning tools, tech adds value to education. But, as with any innovation, it's not about replacing traditional methods. It's about enhancing them.
