🌟 Day 2 of ABIM is going strong! We're thrilled to be part of ABIM - Annual Biocontrol Industry Meeting with our recent rebranding from Biobest Group to BioFirst group. Each of our divisions - Biobest, BioWorks, Biotrop Soluções Biológicas and Plant Products - is here and ready to offer advice! So come by to learn more about our new structure or products and chat with representatives of each division. There's still time, we'll be here tomorrow too. 😉 📍 Hall 4, Stand 012 PS: Who caught our Strategic Alliances Director Herman Van Mellaert’s presentation on pivotal moments in biocontrol? 🌱 #BioFirst #Biobest #BioTrop #BioWorks #ABIM2024 #Biocontrol #SustainableAgriculture

Introducing Mitö in #BioAgTech World congress (Raleigh NC). First biopesticide from #Kimitec under a global registration and launching plan. Biomiticide of broad spectrum based on plant extracts. Strong mortality by direct contact (Suffocation & Dehydration), with repellent, antifeeding and antiegg-laying effects. To reach the same efficacy of chemical miticides, Maavi Innovation Center passed through a massive searching and screening of natural active ingredients (+340 AIs), but efficacy is not only mortality. Days of control (Persistance) in terms of crop protection is critical for efficacy in use, to compite against chemicals in control of initial stablished populations. To face that, green chemistry high technology was added into formulation of Mitö to improve penetration, coverage quality and mist effect during pulverization to improve contact. Mexico as first country with approved sales registration.

🚪 There are many doors to start a project. Most obvious one is the claim. 📝 Dealing with a biostimulant and a biocontrol products are totally different in terms of regulatory data to generate, time to market and obviously return on investment. 🔎 The BioTeam is here to help you understand what is biologically acceptable for your product (mode of action definition) and relate this to a fit for purpose business plan. For Europe to achieve its ambition in biotech, coordinated and resolute actions are necessary under the next Commission and European Parliament with leadership at the highest level and cross-policy coherence. Application of biotech across sectors can bring significant benefits to citizens, economies, and planet. For healthcare, biotech makes life changing and potentially curative therapies a reality for European patients. With discussions in Brussels focused on the Critical Medicines Alliance, it is essential to ensure that biomanufacturing is a pillar of Europe’s resilience and autonomy in healthcare. Increasing support and scale up of biomanufacturing capacities can enable the European production of biologic medicines, both innovatives and biosimilars. At EuropaBio - the European Association for Bioindustries together with our members and partners, we will continue to advocate for ambitious legislative and financial commitments to ensure Europe is a leader of the bio revolution.
Today, EuropaBio - the European Association for Bioindustries along with 17 other signatories are delighted to announce the publication of a 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗖 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲: 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗨. 💬 EuropaBio Director General, Dr Claire Skentelbery said "It is significant that so many industry representatives across sectors support this Initiative. For #Europe to be globally resilient and competitive within sectors vital to our future society and economy, ‘Boosting Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing in the EU’ must be ambitious and delivered quickly with tangible outcomes." 📄 The joint statement in response to the publication of the Initiative praises it as a positive starting point, while calling for greater ambition and implementation for #biotechnology as a recognised critical technology for economic security. ➡️ Read the full statement here: https://lnkd.in/eMJisJ9t Alliance for Biosolutions | AMFEP | Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) | BioChem Europe | Cellular Agriculture Europe | COFALEC Confederation of European Yeast Producers | CropLife Europe | EFPIA - European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations | EBB European Biodiesel Board | European Bioplastics | EUCOPE - European Confederation of Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurs | EFFCA - European Food and Fermentation Cultures Association | Euroseeds | FEFANA asbl | Food Fermentation Europe | Good Food Institute Europe | IPA Europe

Indeed a starting point but the EU does need to do more and fast to strengthen the #biotechnology sector. The complex and overburdening regulation in the #eu remains a big disadvantage not just for companies but also for those raising and providing capital to drive innovation in #lifesciences - namely #venturecapital.
