Orion Environmental Inc.'s contract now totals $564,874 for work on four railcars, funded by ARPA, the city's general fund, and an EDA grant. Other approved contracts include hazardous waste disposal with Veolia ES Technical Solutions LLC and electronic recycling with I.T. Refresh, each receiving $200,000 extensions. As the industry began to buzz with anticipation of the decommissioning wave to come, we were ready to take on the challenge and make our mark in the field. Our involvement in the Stybarrow decommissioning saw us handling hundreds of flowline buoyancy collars. Base Marine not only managed the recovery and transport but was also awarded the contract for waste disposal—ensuring the materials were processed, ground down, separated, and reconstituted for recycling. This project laid the foundation for Base to become a key player in decommissioning across the North West. Traditional methods like wrapping pile caps would have delayed the project, but the client needed something faster. 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: We introduced Hydroprufe LG, a liquid-applied membrane that resists gas, VOCs, and hydrocarbons, eliminating the need for pile cap wrapping.
