Almond Market Update: September 2024 📈 The almond market is experiencing a surge, driven by strong demand and concerns over lower harvest yields South of the Valley. Whilst many initially though the Objective Estimate of 2.8 billion lbs was on the low end, it is now looking more realistic. Many growers prefer to wait for more information before participating in the market. All eyes are now on this week’s August Position Report to give the market it’s next direction. Sunflower-Flax Sourdough. This loaf contains 50% whole wheat from wheat berries freshly milled using a KoMo Fidibus Classic grain mill. The flour is then sifted with a 40 mesh sieve to remove larger pieces of bran. This is often referred to as "high extraction" or "bolted" flour, which still yields the nutritional value of whole grain flour, yet with a lighter texture. Repurpose the bran to coat the bannetons.

Current price for A Grade (high quality vanilla beans) is K165/kg, B Grade (good beans) is K110/kg, and C Grade (rejected beans) is K55/kg. The monthly analyses from Agri Stats Brasill demonstrate that the standard cost for broiler chicken production in Brazil has experienced a slight increase. 📈 For the month of May, the cost of chicken stands at R$3.80/kg (US$ 0.76/kg) live weight, marking an increase of R$0.01/kg (US$ 0.002/kg) live weight compared to April. This stands in contrast to May 2023, where the standard cost for live chicken was R$4.27/kg (US$ 0.85). This increase is mainly attributed to feed costs. 🌽

Danish potato starch co-operative KMC has reported a 6% increase in revenue to DKK 3.6m (£4m) for the 2023/34 financial year, driven by growth in potato starch sales and stable production capacity.
