EHRs (Electronic Health Records) are getting better in Canada. Our journey towards secure and seamless electronic health information access just got easier with the unveiling of the Shared Pan-Canadian Interoperability Roadmap. By making patient data accessible to healthcare providers across the country, this initiative aims to improve healthcare outcomes. Less than 40% of Canadians access their health information online, so there's a lot of potential. Doctors will be able to share patient information and provide better, more informed care with the roadmap. Blocksure-Virtual Health Records is proud to be a part of this transformation. You're health data is in a safe, secure place with our platform, supporting seamless and protected healthcare. Stay tuned for more updates on how this will change healthcare in Canada! #EHR #HealthcareInnovation #Canada #DigitalHealth #Interoperability #BlocksureVHR

🌐 Addressing the EHR Gap in Canada 🌐 Canada's healthcare system is at a pivotal point with the adoption of Electronic Health Records (EHR). Despite significant strides, less than 40% of Canadians have accessed their health information online*. Additionally, less than 2 out of 5 Canadian doctors report sending patient information electronically to other healthcare providers *. The lack of widespread EHR use is a concern as it can impact patient safety and the quality of care*. Fast, accurate, and secure sharing of health information is essential for making informed treatment decisions and providing the best possible care*. Our company, Blocksure-Virtual Health Records, is ready to bridge this gap. Our platform ensures that your health data is kept in a safe, secure place, supporting the vision of seamless and protected healthcare delivery. Let's work together to make healthcare more efficient and patient-centered. *www.cihi.ca #EHR #HealthcareInnovation #Canada #DigitalHealth #PatientCare #BlocksureVHR

🩺 Canada’s Healthcare: Trapped in Silos, Risking Patient Safety Did you know? In Canada, health records are often fragmented across multiple providers, with no unified system to connect the dots. This creates gaps in care, leading to missed information, duplicated tests, and increased medical errors. For example, when doctors lack access to a patient’s full medical history—like previous test results or medications—the chances of misdiagnosis or incorrect treatment rise significantly. It’s a system that’s failing both patients and healthcare providers. Alberta Virtual Care Coordinating Body Recommendation: The "Data Disarray: A Root Cause Analysis of Health Data Dysfunction in Canada" report calls for a nationwide health data overhaul. By prioritizing interoperability—systems that securely share health data in real time— they can ensure your information follows you wherever you go. This means fewer errors, better care outcomes, and a system designed with patients in mind. It’s time to reimagine healthcare in Canada. 🔗 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gHTBb_Xi

One of the challenges in keeping our #healthcaresystems sustainable will be the ability to keep care close to home and in the right setting. #Integratedcare across settings is the inroad to that and we will need integrated Electronic Health Records to realize that. The healthcare sector is now entering the era of the unified electronic health record (EHR) that brings together data from disparate sources and organizes it in a smart way that can help drive clinical decision making across settings. Developing regional- or national-level EHRs is a complex data integration project that needs a clear vision across settings and buy in from all the stakeholders to ensure that the system is actually used and embraced by all healthcare professionals and citizens. The payoffs in creating regional or national level EHRs can be substantial in terms of improvements to efficiency, productivity, cost control and patient and healthcare professional experiences. For countries and territories looking to roll out regional health record systems, learning lessons from other jurisdictions can be helpful. Our new Healthcare Foresight article by Alberto De Negri provides an overview of the work Italy is doing to roll out EHRs widely within its regions to connect different layers of health providers.
