NEW EPISODE❕❕ Marketing and branding are the latest buzzwords in the home service industry, but what do they actually mean? Marketing involves connecting your customers' needs with a product or service, whereas branding is a storytelling mechanism that invokes a specific response. But these strategies aren’t one-time efforts; you can’t create a catchy slogan once and expect to capture your customers’ attention for life. You must provide consistently exceptional experiences to keep your clients invested in your brand. In today’s episode, we chat with branding wizard Ryan Chute. Here are his insights: 🔷 Decoding buzzwords, from advertising and marketing to branding 🔷 The difference between a truck wrap and a strong brand 🔷 Ryan’s AIDA formula for branding 🔷 Why Ruth’s Chris Steak House has the secret sauce for marketing and branding If your brand needs some peppering up, go to https://lnkd.in/dn6HcuQ2 to listen to the episode. 🔨💡🔧🎙

As with product parity, the stories brands tell often have little differentiation. Particularly when the beliefs and values of the companies behind them are nearly identical. Even if their origin story is unusual, does it translate into a meaningful identity, culture, and marketplace impact? Is the delta less than 5%-7%, such that the logo is all that remains as singular? Powerful storytelling still needs some 'there, there' to break through, much less endure. And thanks for leading out on this Cole.
The outdoor industry is a sea of sameness. Our industry is good at its craft. Maybe a little too good. Every brand is producing products that are tougher, lighter, and more effective than ever before. Our industry has done such a great job of pushing each other to constantly improve that it’s all starting to look, feel, and perform the same. This is a good problem to have because it brings out the best in everyone. But in a sea of sameness, how do companies stand out if their product alone isn’t discernible? Price point certainly is a factor as are availability, sizing, and colorways but at the end of the day, the only thing that separates a company from its competition is its brand and the stories being told.
