Leadership: Getting introduced to foundational concepts of leading with confidence, integrity, and vision. 2. Business Writing: Beginning to enhance professional communication through fundamental writing techniques. 3. Graphic Designing: Exploring the basics of creativity with modern design tools and principles. 4. Public Speaking: Starting to build the groundwork for strong presentation skills and the ability to engage and inspire audiences. 5. AI Prompting: Taking our first steps into understanding and navigating the world of artificial intelligence. I'm thrilled about the journey ahead and eager to delve deeper into these crucial skills. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Ace Institute of Management and International Development Institute (IDI), a leading training and capacity building provider, headquartered in Washington D.C. for collaboration on guest speaker sessions, internships, placements, live industry projects, research collaborations and networking opportunities for Ace students.

Did you know that in 2023 the Center provided 1,440 awards to participants from 66 countries and 48 US states and territories? With 463 (32%) going to long-term degree study through the University of Hawai‘i and 977 (68%) to participants in shorter-term activities such as professional development exchanges, internships, and conferences. This past week, Temple First successfully hosted our First-Gen Internship Panel! Featuring a mix of professional and undergraduate student panelists, the session highlighted important lessons, including: 1️⃣ Skill Development Over Perfection: Not stressing about what skills you lack when starting an internship. Internships are designed for growth, so focus on learning and improving. Curiosity and a strong work ethic often matter more than being perfect. 2️⃣ Building Connections = Career Capital: Your network is as valuable as your skills! Using your internship to build relationships with peers, mentors, and managers, which can provide valuable career opportunities and support in the future. 3️⃣ Standing Out in the Internship Hunt: Focus on your passion, enthusiasm, and the value you bring; personalizing your application, showcasing your unique experiences, and demonstrating why you’re excited about that particular company.
