Cubbit, an Italian company specializing in geo-distributed cloud storage, has raised $12.5 million in a funding round co-led by LocalGlobe and ETF Partners. Other investors include Verve Ventures, 2100 Ventures, Hydra, Growth Engine, Eurenergia, and Moonstone Venture Capital, Azimut Libera Impresa, CDP Venture Capital SGR through its Fondo Evoluzione, and Primo Ventures. Cubbit, founded by Stefano Onofri, Alessandro Cillario and Marco Moschettini, enables organizations to create their own geo-distributed S3 cloud storage that integrates seamlessly with any infrastructure and policy framework. Their technology focuses on data resiliency, reducing IT resources and disk space, and minimizing the carbon footprint of cloud storage. The new funding will support Cubbit's growth in Europe, particularly in DACH, French-speaking regions, and the UK. The company also plans to expand its application ecosystem to support projects in industries such as aerospace, defense, and healthcare.

Congratulations to SafetyCulture on their recent funding win. Whilst the overall valuation may be lower than previous raises this is one of the biggest raises in 2024. Source of the below is the AFR: "The $165 million comprised $75 million of fresh capital, which will be allocated for growth. The $90 million of secondary sales allow existing shareholders to trade some or all of their stakes to pocket a windfall even though the company will stay private.
