I’m looking forward to speaking at Representation Matters in New York next week, an evidence-based discussion on the importance and impact of women’s political representation.
Building on key themes of the upcoming 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Oliver Wyman Forum, Women Political Leaders (WPL), and The World Bank’s Women, Business and the Law project, will preview findings from the second installment of their Representation Matters report. The report explores how women’s political leadership drives economic and societal progress. Following 2023’s inaugural report, this year's edition delves into the relationship between increased women’s political representation and women’s economic rights.
I’ll join Monica Geingos, Arzu Rana Deuba, Isata Mahoi, Michelle Harrison, and Francine Pickup to share personal experiences and perspectives on leadership and ensuring women’s representation. Together we’ll discuss the research’s key findings, and what’s happening across government, business, and society to enhance women’s representation in both political and economic spheres.
