Take a few minutes to listen to a conversation with Anita Polite-Wilson, Ph.D., a past client and a friend. This discussion may be particularly beneficial if you're currently experiencing tension at work or within your family, especially with the holidays approaching. I found the insights shared in this conversation about framing valuable. While healthy debate can be constructive—after all, “Iron sharpens iron”—navigating these conversations has not always been easy. One key takeaway for me was the importance of framing debates in a way that focuses on finding solutions rather than seeking power or being on defense. Unfortunately, recent debates have often resulted in individuals demeaning one another, which is counterproductive and can even harm family bonds, especially amid political differences. Despite our societal divisions, we must find ways to coexist and respect our differences to build a truly united community. #community #family #holidays

In a few days, loved ones of all ages will gather to be grateful! As you prepare for your Thanksgiving celebration, consider these ideas to get the different generations in your family connecting: 1. Merge the kids’ and adults’ tables. Don’t segment seating by age, instead mix generations and see what happens. Whether a grandparent shares a pearl of wisdom or a teen captures the meal on SnapChat, everyone can learn from each other!   2. Ask questions and share stories. Research shows that stories sync the brains of the storyteller and the listener. What a great way to transfer knowledge, wisdom, and legacy with those you love! Here are some conversation sparkers:   ·  What was Thanksgiving like when you were growing up? ·  What is your favorite holiday memory or tradition? ·  Who or what are you thankful for in your life now? ·  Here is a special story about our family… ·  The quality I most appreciate about you is… 3.
