Caribbean Dragons’ DNA is centered around our vision of creating a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in Latin America & the Caribbean. With that in mind, we held our first (of 3) startup networking events on January 11th, 2024. We were absolutely humbled by the overwhelming response and can't thank our community enough. From the feedback we received, it seems that the event truly resonated with founders and stakeholders alike and added genuine value to the ecosystem. It was a great start to the series, which wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of PwC Trinidad and Tobago, One FinTech Avenue and Angostura Limited. Thanks also to the six (6) startups for crashing through their comfort zones and sharing their journeys with us: Yasser Baksh - YBMS Biotec Ltd Christian Young Sing - Crisp Kevin Blake-Thomas - tychon Atiba Phillips - XHUMA Healthcare Ltd Mark Pereira - Zed Labs Dareem Jeffrey - Eco Wash Our second event is being held on Thursday 29th February 2024 from 6pm to 8:30pm at One FinTech Avenue and is destined to be completely different. We will be hosting the first COMMUNITY CO-BUILD. As part of our startup community you will have the opportunity, for the first time, to voice your opinion on what you think the ecosystem needs, what it should look like and then actually be part of the process of shaping and crafting that vision. A startup ecosystem, "Of startups, by startups, for startups". “The biggest threat to a growing startup ecosystem is not a lack of capital.” Community-led Entrepreneur Support Organizations are a lifeline in startup ecosystems. They’re often the first line of support for entrepreneurs solving real-world problems who sit in investor blind spots. But these organizations and the people who run them are often under-resourced – operating as startups themselves – making it harder to run effective programs that really serve the entrepreneurs. Hear directly from the ecosystem builders in our recent program in Uganda, supported by Argidius Foundation. The program helped accelerators and incubators improve their strategy, sustainability, and impact.
