Brisbane South PHN’s Post

Today is World COPD Day. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a group of progressive lung conditions which includes emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and chronic asthma. This condition causes the narrowing of the bronchial tubes in the lungs. Around 1 in 13 Australians aged 40 years and over have a form of COPD. COPD Symptoms can include: ✅shortness of breath ✅repetitive cough ✅increased phlegm or mucus ✅fatigue ✅frequent chest infections ✅longer recovery times. Our Quality Improvement Coordinators can support your practice with quality improvement activities focused on improving the health outcomes of your patient population and reducing risks of chronic diseases.
