A great animated explainer of how hurricanes form and evolve. Scientists need more ocean data to predict their progression, and yachtsmen can play a big role in this, collecting oceanographic data from their boats in coastal areas. This is especially important in the Caribbean, where the recent Hurricane Beryl took an unpredictable path, wreaking havoc on the sailboats waiting for it. We witnessed its catastrophic effect on islands communities and collected oceanographic data during the hurricane's passage, determining its impact on ocean physical and biogeochemical parameters.
