🚨 What has changed in the WADA 2025 Prohibited List? Significant changes have been made to the World Anti-Doping Agency 2025 Prohibited List, which concerns #athletes, #healthcareprofessionals, and #athletesupportpersonnel. The list will come into effect on January 1, 2025. To better understand what these changes mean for athletes, you can consult a qualified #sportspharmacist. 📝 What are the key changes? 1️⃣ New examples have been added to the following substance classes to help athletes and their support teams better identify #prohibitedsubstances: S0. Non-approved substances, S4. Hormone and metabolic modulators, S5. Diuretics and masking agents, S6. Stimulants. 2️⃣ Attention to athletes receiving asthma treatment!: The dosing interval for medications containing formoterol has been changed to 12 hours. The maximum daily dose remains the same. 3️⃣ Donation of blood and blood components, including by apheresis, is no longer prohibited if performed in an accredited blood donation center. 4️⃣ Hydrafinil is now classified as a non-specified stimulant. 5️⃣It has been clarified that guanfacine, used in the treatment of ADHD, is not a prohibited substance. 6️⃣Beta-blockers are no longer prohibited in any skiing or snowboarding disciplines. LOOK MA! We made the @crossfit email! 😂 Thanks @therealbroccolirob726 for sending it to me☺️ So many mixed emotions over that picture. I got my CF1 2 years ago to deepen my relationship with my favorite sport, learn to coach, and get better at my passion. Since joining @thewellnesswayacademy a year ago and becoming a Health Restoration Coach, I look back at this picture and see food allergies, gut issues, high cortisol, inflammation, and other underlining issues that impacted my performance. I always thought, working out aside, I had issues with sculpting my body and I wasn’t happy with how my body looked. I also was not happy with my athletic performance and desired to get better at my sport. This is not fat in this picture. This is pure inflammation. I preach the difference on my personal page and in my business @theamericandreamlearningcenter . I teach K-6 in my business and I still love teaching but I also offer Health Restoration Coaching (Children and Adults) because inflammation is a massive issue in our population as a whole, but especially in our children. I don’t want anyone, but especially our children as they grow, not knowing the difference between “fat / body image” and serious medical inflammation that can be addressed. The modern medical community does not take inflammation seriously until it becomes a disease. It can be addressed with the right medical testing, right protocols, and the right team. I truly have the best team ever on this road of discovery and unpacking how to be the healthiest version of myself ❤️. 🏀I am loving watching the NBA Playoffs🏀 Soft tissue injuries are unfortunately common in high-intensity sports like basketball, and this playoff season has been no exception. However, managing acute injuries effectively is crucial for players' performance and long-term health. Here's a reminder of the PEACE and LOVE approach to soft tissue injury management: 🔹 P for Protect: Immediately after injury, do no harm and let peace guide your approach. Protect the injured area to minimize further damage. 🔹 E for Elevate: Elevate the limb higher than the heart to promote fluid flow out of tissues, aiding in recovery. 🔹 A for Avoid Anti-inflammatory Modalities: Inhibiting inflammation can compromise tissue healing. Avoid anti-inflammatory medications and cryotherapy. 🔹 C for Compress: Use external mechanical pressure to limit swelling and tissue hemorrhage. 🔹 E for Educate: Empower patients with knowledge about active recovery approaches and the importance of realistic expectations. 🔹 L for Load: Gradually introduce mechanical stress through movement and exercise to promote tissue repair and build tolerance. 🔹 O for Optimism: Foster optimistic patient expectations, as they are associated with better outcomes. 🔹 V for Vascularisation: Incorporate cardiovascular activity to increase blood flow to injured structures, aiding in healing. 🔹 E for Exercise: Utilize exercises to restore mobility, strength, and proprioception while avoiding pain to ensure optimal repair.
