Exciting News: Ethiopian Freight Forwarders and Shipping Agents Association (EFFSAA) has officially submitted a bid to host the prestigious 2027 International Federation of Freight Agencies (FIATA) World Congress! This global event brings together over 1,000 logistics leaders and industry stakeholders from around the world. EFFSAA's bid comes after previous attempts for the 2022 and 2025 congresses were impacted by security concerns in the northern region. However, with a strong proposal presented by Dawit Woubishet, EFFSAA President, at the recent FIATA meeting in Geneva, Ethiopia is now competing against the Czech Republic for the hosting rights. By withdrawing bids from Israel and Brazil, Ethiopia has positioned itself as a top contender for the 2027 congress. Dawit emphasized the importance of securing sponsors and ensuring sustained security to secure the bid, along with highlighting government support and Addis Ababa's tourist attractions. With FIATA having only held three congresses in Africa in its 100-year history, Ethiopia's bid is particularly significant, especially in light of the African Continental Free Trade Area. The host announcement is set to take place in September 2024 at the Panama City World Congress. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development! #FIATAWorldCongress #EFFSAA #LogisticsLeaders #IndustryStakeholders #EthiopiaHostingBid #AfricanTradeArea #GlobalEvent Source: Capital Ethiopia

🔸”Wind of change” was the motto of the conference organised by the EUROPEUM Brussels Office (see https://lnkd.in/dyr4AtH5 ) about the changing role of Central Europe within the EU. The countries of this region have common features, therefore common interests as well. 🔸The Central European region so far is significantly underrepresented in the European debates. The greater growth potential should have been factored in by the Draghi report. However, among hundreds of sources of the Draghi report, perhaps just one originated from the Eastern EU countries. 🔸Central Europeans should develop a coordinated strategy and representation ahead of the upcoming debates on the EU MFF. CE countries are stakeholders in Cohesion Policy as well as CAP. However, these items cannot remain the sole focus of CE efforts. For example, there should be an endeavour to increase participation in Horizon Europe. More elements of my intervention here: https://lnkd.in/dP-zTkM5

14 – 27 – 45 This is not a logical test. This is the increasing number of French companies under the French Pavillon that we have been organizing for the last 3 ReBuild Ukraine. This year we were the #1 pavilion in terms of foreign companies represented at Rebuild Ukraine even though some others may had a bigger space. Those results do not come out of nowhere. It is a result of a bottom-up approach with most of the work being unseen. It reminds me of the safety triangle when you have to focus on eliminating unsafe acts and near miss incidents in order to reduce fatalities at the top of the triangle. The success of the French Pavilion is a collective effort : Internally we have an amazing team here in Kyiv Olexandra H. Nataliya BILYK Mariana Misiura, in Paris Cassandra Guerrin Pascale Thieffry Catherine Jurovsky and in Warsaw. The unwavering support from our direction Laurent Saint-Martin Benoit Trivulce Yvane BOCCHI-WIRMAN Gouënaelle B. Laurence de Touchet and others, has been instrumental. We conceived the French Pavilion as a gathering place for the "Team France" and a special recognition goes to our special envoy Pierre HEILBRONN and his team Olivier STEMLER Elise Benyo and to our Ambassador in Poland Etienne de Poncins This year we had some very valuable help from our colleagues of the Economic Department at the Embassy Pierre Offret Mathilde Arjakovsky and from our Ambassador Gaël Veyssière We were also very happy to count in our delegation representatives from the French Treasury Melchior Savigneux from Agence Française de Développement Axelle Nos Sandra Kassab from Expertise France Aurélien MAS and a strong involvement of French Regions Geoffroy DIDIER Franck LEVY Région Hauts-de-France We also had a lot of French companies already operating in Ukraine and members of the CCI France Ukraine Bertrand Barrier Maud Chicheportiche - Joseph and some French Foreign Trade Advisors as Grégoire Dattée During this last edition there were a very interesting involvement of the European commission, and I feel our interactions will increase Gabriel Blanc Orest Tokač Martine Diss Eventually all of this is possible because we had the chance to work with amazing Ukrainian partners, from Premier Expo Liudmyla Denysiuk from the Ministry of Energy, from the Ministry of Economy, from the Ministry of infrastructure, from the State Agency for Reconstruction and from many many Ukrainian collectivities. I strongly believe that this work is providing results. Not all companies of course will at the end be present at the end in Ukraine, but the more companies are being mobilized and properly prepared the more we will see effective and useful projects emerging between French and Ukrainian companies. I extend my gratitude to all the French companies that have been part of this journey over the past three editions. Your trust and commitment have been the cornerstone of our success, and I appreciate each one of you for your contributions.

However, CPMR emphasizes the urgent need of addressing competitiveness for the benefit of all regions rather than a select few.
