InnovaQuartz got started by adapting lasers and CNC positioning to glass blowing for fused quartz. This was our second product (circa 1992) and we still make several thousand of them today. These "Y-splitters" are designed to accept a range of diameters of polyimide coated capillary (yellow tubes) for splitting the flow of a separations stream in capillary gas chromatography and they do a nice job of that. I offer this as an illustration of the breadth of our capabilities. For scale, this is 40 +1/-0 mm long with a quartz glass OD of 2 mm. The bores are tapered from the after chamfer opening of 0.75 mm down to 0.275 mm just before the junction in all three legs and gas flow is split 50:50 between the two outlet columns. I'll not bore the non-chromatographers -- skip this paragraph if you aren't a chemist -- but the newest versions of these offer almost no dead volume and the press-fit seals resist several pounds of axial load while holding pressures up to 5000 psi (>100 psi not recommended for safety reasons, but we have tested to this pressure).
