You know it, we know it, we all know it: nowadays, soft skills are as important (or more) than hard skills. Technicalities, software and specific skills can be easily trained, it just takes some time. But communication? Team work? Punctuality? That’s another ball game… We’re not saying that cannot be taught. As a matter of fact, soft skill training is our best work, the ones we love to do and deliver quicker. Our best-fit projects approach ensures that your training materials perfectly align with your specific needs and learning objectives. By aligning our training materials with your specific learning objectives, we ensure maximum impact. Our best-fit projects empower your team to learn effectively and apply their new skills with confidence. For example, we developed three Rise courses for a client, about how adults can be good mentors for teenagers, how to support them, recognize trust-building behavior and learn to bolster self-esteem. To do that, those adults needed to learn a lot of soft skills, or at least better them, and our development team did an amazing job at it. How? Very simple. We trained our team before starting the project, since we had specific objectives where we were looking for our developers to enhance their development and soft skills. They’re experts in these kinds of topics because they've been on the learner's side too. The great result goes in hand with and were able to deliver such a great result. 🌱 The Power of Self-Learning Through Experience In today’s fast-paced world, knowledge alone isn’t enough to fuel personal and professional growth. The real game-changer? *Learning through experience. Throughout my journey—whether in the tech industry, co-founding a business, or navigating life’s challenges—one lesson stands tall: No classroom, book, or course can fully prepare you for the complexities of the real world. Here’s why I believe self-learning through experiences is invaluable: 1. Adaptability: When faced with unpredictable challenges, we are forced to adapt. This ability to think on your feet and pivot is what sets successful individuals apart. 2. Resilience: Real-world experiences, especially failures, teach resilience. Every setback comes with a lesson that strengthens your resolve to overcome the next obstacle. 3. Practical Skills: Theory is important, but application is key. You may know the what and why, but only through doing can you master the *how*. Hands-on experience bridges that gap. 4. Confidence: As we learn through experience, we build confidence. The more we tackle new challenges, the more we trust in our ability to handle the unknown. This confidence compounds and opens doors to greater opportunities. 5. Continuous Growth: Self-learning isn’t a one-time event. It’s a continuous process where each experience enriches your perspective, sharpens your skillset, and equips you to evolve in a rapidly changing world. As we progress in our careers, it’s easy to fall into the trap of complacency, relying solely on what we’ve already been taught. But the true value lies in pushing beyond our comfort zones, seeking out new experiences, and embracing the lessons they bring. Every experience, big or small, is a teacher. Take charge of your learning journey. 💡 #SelfLearning #GrowthMindset #ExperienceIsTheBestTeacher #ContinuousLearning #Resilience #Adaptability

How do you ensure learning transfers back into the workplace? We know it's important that learners have a great time in our workshops. We also know it's even more important that the learning transfers from the workshop back in to daily tasks, activities and interactions. Having done the set up work, including people leaders at the beginning, throughout and at the conclusion of the learning - how do you leverage your influence whilst handing over the responsibility to apply newly aquired skills? My favourite learning transfer hacks include; 1- Get learners to write a letter to themselves at the very beginning - What do you want to see change, different and improved in your work as a result of this programme? Return the letter six months later. 2 - At the end of the workshop/programme, get learners to capture two MVT's (most valuable tips) on a postcard and two things they commit to implementing. Post it to them two months later. 3 - At the conclusion of the learning, have learners create their own cheat sheet of insights (gold nuggets) and share them with fellow learners and people leaders (thanks Kerri Price) I'm a big fan of programmes, because of the power of spacing. Learning little and often creates a behaviour of; reflection, learning, practice...repeat. At the end of our programmes, Learners are invited to create a presentation of their experience and growth from start to finish. They have three minutes to share, however they wish. We've had amazing poems, animated videos, heartfelt letters to self, we've even had interpretive dance 😮 and this promo video created by a programme participant because she believed Communicate Powerfully needed to become available to more people. How good is this? "Side effects include euphoria...and communication addiction." Cracked me up. What are your favourite learning transfer activities? #learningtransfer #selfleadership #personalgrowth #communicationtraining #communicationskills #effectivecommunication #peopleareclever #lovemywork

I wish 𝐢 deeply 𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐰 that many years ago... I recently realized that many of the personal problems I faced in the past could have been 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 or 𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘥 if I had embraced my own 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛-𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜. ⚠️Not only did my lack of self-learning 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 my personal and professional development, but it also impacted my motivation, confidence, and caused unnecessary struggle and frustration. 👉 Self-learning is a simple yet powerful principle that few of us truly embrace, maximize and accelerate. It's not just about accumulating information but generating your own answers by yourself, insights, and solutions that are adapted to your circumstances and motivations. This requires self-reflection, taking actions, trial and error, and adjustments. When I started my coaching business, I received help from a consultant. It helped me in some aspects but it also got me off track in several others! Why? Because no one knows your motivations, capacities, preferences, and circumstances better than you. ☝️ Relying exclusively on external guidance not only pauses your ability to think and problem solve by yourself, but it can also make you 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 by trying to apply external general solutions when what is required is a personalized one that only you can create. In today's world, we have immediate access to information, but it's not enough to just know a lot. What makes a difference is how we integrate it to our own experience and use this knowledge through our self-learning capacities. So, embrace your process of self-learning, and watch your personal and professional development soar. #selflearning #personaldevelopment #professionaldevelopment

Training can be an underappreciated line of work and I sometimes find myself questioning what value we bring to the table. There's no one answer to this question, but today I realized that as learning professionals, what we bring to the table is the beginner's mindset. There is tremendous value in this principle. In my roughly ten years in training, I've encountered plenty of training developed by brilliant subject matter experts. And because they're, ahem, experts, most have lost their beginner's mind. What does that mean? It means it's harder for them to see the gaps in understanding a beginner might have. It means they have a more difficult time recognizing the cognitive breadcrumbs they'll have to leave learners so they can get to more complex concepts and processes. And it means the training they create can leave newbies feeling confused, overwhelmed, or both. There's value in what we do. Adopting a beginner's mindset can be helpful in most areas of your life, but it is absolutely crucial when it comes to training. #learninganddevelopment #beginnersmind #subjectmatterexperts

Top 5 Intellectual Habits to Cultivate for Personal Development The first method in the Top 5 Intellectual Habits to Cultivate for Personal Development is a dedication to ongoing learning. Embracing a lifelong learning mentality requires setting aside regular time to broaden your knowledge and skills. This can take several forms, like reading books from various genres, enrolling in online courses tailored to your interests, or actively participating in seminars and workshops, (MENTOR SYSTEMS and BEMPOWERED will be hosting a master class and workshop soon!). By constantly seeking out new information, you not only broaden your awareness of the world but also develop adaptability in an ever-changing environment. Continuous learning is fundamentally based on cultivating a curiosity mentality. By entering each day with awe and a desire to learn, you open yourself up to a world of possibilities. Curiosity fosters intellectual growth and keeps your mind engaged, whether you're delving into a subject you've always been interested in or exploring new territory. When curiosity guides you, facing the unknown becomes an exciting adventure rather than a terrifying obstacle. Incorporating multiple sources of knowledge into your learning journey broadens your viewpoint and improves your critical thinking abilities. Discussions with people from other backgrounds or specialist areas expose you to new perspectives and challenge your assumptions. This exchange of ideas promotes intellectual discourse and pushes you to question, analyze, and improve your opinions and understanding. The commitment to constant learning not only promotes personal development but also professional advancement. In today's fast-paced, competitive world, remaining stationary is not an option. By continually improving your skills and knowledge base, you may stay current and valued in your chosen area. Furthermore, the capacity to adapt to new technologies, trends, and difficulties provides a competitive advantage when negotiating the intricacies of the modern workplace. The quest of constant learning is a path of self-discovery and empowerment. It promotes personal development, broadens horizons, and fosters an attitude of resilience and adaptability. Here are some qualities that every learner should cultivate: 👉𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞: Always respect the time of the person you are learning from, even if they have limited time to offer. The effort they put in, no matter how much, deserves your respect. 👉𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲: A learner must have a deep passion and curiosity for learning anything new. This drive pushes them to explore and understand concepts better. 👉𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞: If you genuinely want to learn, reach out to the person you wish to learn from—whether through a call, a message, or face-to-face. One of the most rewarding parts of being a trainer is that every session brings new opportunities—not just for participants to learn, but for me to grow as well. Some of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned have come from the challenges I’ve faced in the training room. I recently worked with a group that had a wide range of learning preferences and experiences. Some participants thrived on hands-on activities, while others preferred in-depth discussions or visual aids. At first, it was a challenge to keep everyone equally engaged, but it also pushed me to think creatively and adapt my methods on the spot. Here’s what I took away from that experience: 🔄 Flexibility is Essential: No two groups are ever the same, and as a trainer, being able to pivot and adjust is key. I learned to blend teaching styles, incorporating a mix of interactive exercises, discussions, and visual aids to meet the needs of the group. 🤝 Patience Builds Trust: Taking the time to listen to questions and concerns, even if it meant slowing the pace, helped create a supportive learning environment. Patience showed participants that their input mattered and encouraged them to engage more fully. 🧠 Creativity Makes Learning Stick: To bridge the gap between different learning styles, I introduced new ways of explaining concepts—using analogies, storytelling, and group problem-solving. These small shifts helped everyone connect with the material in their own way. 🌱 Growth Happens in Challenges: This experience reminded me that challenges aren’t setbacks—they’re opportunities to refine and grow. Each session, no matter how complex, makes me a better trainer and deepens my understanding of how people learn. Training is never about a one-size-fits-all approach. It’s about staying adaptable, building connections, and finding creative ways to inspire confidence and understanding. That’s where the magic happens. What’s a challenge you’ve faced in your work, and what did it teach you? I’d love to hear your stories! 👇 #TrainingChallenges #ProfessionalGrowth #Adaptability #LessonsLearned #EmpoweringLearning #TrainerLife #ContinuousImprovement
