Proud of my C40 Cities colleagues as last week we launched our flagship Clean Air Zone (CAZ) Toolbox! 🌟 The Toolbox is an engaging and comprehensive resource to help create transformative change for thriving, inclusive and healthy cities. CAZs are specific areas of a city in which measures have been introduced to reduce air pollution, prioritise people over cars, and promote a shift to active travel. This guide provides examples of how different global cities are implementing CAZ policies towards zero emission transport by 2030. The Toolbox is divided into three main parts, each of which offers valuable insights, learning and guidance on CAZ policies: Part 1: How to introduce a Clean Air Zone in your city  Part 2: How to create an inclusive and equitable Clean Air Zone Part 3: How to build public and political support for Clean Air Zones Please feel free to share in your network! The month of May marks the end of spring and is dedicated to #NationalCleanAir, a time to reflect on and revisit ways to incorporate practices into our daily routines that help improve the quality of the air we breathe. Let me provide you with some methods to assist in purifying the atmosphere. - Reduce Vehicle Emissions: Opt for public transportation, carpooling, biking, or walking to reduce the number of vehicles on the road. - Conserve Energy: Use energy-efficient appliances and reduce electricity usage to decrease the pollution emitted from power plants. - Participate in Local Cleanups: Join or organize community cleanups to help reduce litter and pollutants that can degrade air quality. - Plant Trees: Engage in tree planting activities. Trees help to filter pollutants and produce oxygen, improving air quality. - Advocate for Policies: Support and advocate for local and national policies that aim to reduce air pollution and promote clean energy solutions. This year, I have planted new trees with NNBN to support the cause and have made a conscious effort to walk more instead of driving. I have also ensured that my car is running efficiently to reduce vehicle emissions. When paddling on the river, I actively participate in clean-up efforts with the paddle Gaia SUP community, helping to collect litter and keep the riverbank clean. Are you helping to clean the air?
