“I believe in inclusive ed. I think that we should all be in spaces together. Every kind of label you can think of, every set of challenges you can think of – there's someone in the world who has figured out how to support a person with those challenges, with their peers.” LeDerick Horne describes his advocacy for inclusive education on my latest episode: www.beyond6seconds.net/223 #InclusiveEducation #DyslexiaAwarenessMonth

Your local and regional trail efforts are critical. Honestly, they’re the bedrock of trail advocacy. And IMBA programs complement and boost that work by teaching people involved in trails to be most effective with available tools and resources. Your support helps IMBA develop new programs, free resources, and grant opportunities that enable progress. That support is critical as we look ahead to meet our goal of partnering with 250 communities by the end of 2025. Leading with trails is our specialty – help us with that journey: https://lnkd.in/gnVpf6jc

Excited to share insights from the webinar "Transform Your Practice: Community Engagement Strategies for Trust, Impact & Civic Pride"! These valuable cards and case studies by the Sustaining Robust Engagement & Stewardship Working Group of the Civic Commons Learning Network, are crafted by practitioners, for practitioners to help nurture trust, expand participation, and promote advocacy through community engagement. You can use these cards to... 1️⃣ Challenge misconceptions hindering impactful outreach. For instance, practitioners often assume a representative group will participate, but research shows that public meeting attendees are usually unhappy or distrustful. 2️⃣ Utilize practical strategies to enhance your engagement practice. Recognize that no community is homogeneous, focusing on building relationships, trust, & accountability with diverse groups. 3️⃣ Foster relationships, trust, & accountability within diverse communities. Co-create solutions through action-oriented approaches instead of merely collecting input. 4️⃣ Empower your outreach efforts, assess current practices, & share ideas with colleagues for maximum impact! #Culture #Community #Relationships #Trust #AudienceEngagement #CommunityEngagement #Advocacy #Policy #Leadership #Practicioners #Pedagogy #Outreach #Documentation
