MPOC: UK Acknowledges Malaysian Palm Oil Sustainability In a pivotal move, the Trade and Agriculture Commission (TAC) has officially endorsed the sustainability of Malaysian palm oil. The Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) reports that the TAC's analysis confirms Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) not only complies with but surpasses UK legislation. MPOC emphasizes potential benefits, urging the UK to proceed with a zero-tariff rate for Malaysian palm oil. This recognition positions Malaysia ahead in global sustainability. With TAC acknowledging Malaysia as a CPTPP founding member, there is a call for formal UK recognition of MSPO as a compliance tool, signaling positive strides for sustainable palm oil trade. Key Highlights: • EUR 150M to achieve 100% non-conventional water use for our industrial operations in 2024. • EUR 50M for 100% clean energy by 2027 and full carbon neutrality by 2040. This investment will help create an ecosystem of 600 companies and approximately 25,000 jobs in Morocco. This project, funded by The World Bank, is a leap towards sustainable sanitation solutions.   Designed to serve to over 128,000 inhabitants and manage 1,340 m3/day of faecal sludge, this rehabilitation effort not only meets the present and future sanitation demands but also aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), and Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3).   #GWIC #Mozambique #Sustainability #UNSDGs #WastewaterTreatment #EngineeringForChange

📢New statement from Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) CEO Belvinder Sron on the latest EUDR delay announcement from the EU Commission: “The EU Commission’s announcement that EUDR implementation will be delayed until 30th December 2025 is the right decision. This is a victory for common sense, and a welcome relief for all of those businesses who highlighted the need for a delay. “Malaysian palm oil exporters are able to comply with EUDR: this is not in doubt. Malaysia’s commitment to zero deforestation is written in law. The MSPO standard is the world’s leading mandatory palm oil certification scheme. Malaysia is ready to supply EUDR-compliant, sustainable and traceable palm oil to our European customers. “This delay is a sensible decision to ensure that supply chains around the world have the time to prepare the technical and bureaucratic processes demanded by EUDR.” https://lnkd.in/ev778rcE
