The Performance of Manufacturing Index (PMI) reveals that manufacturing activity in New Zealand has been shrinking for the past 11 months. While global economic slowdown plays a role, our underperformance compared to other major economies demands attention.  🌟 ** Shaping the Future of Industry at the CECIMO Brussels Forum 2024 ** 🌟   Yesterday, I had the opportunity of participating in a panel discussion at the CECIMO Brussels Forum 2024. Events like these are crucial for industrial companies in the #EU to demonstrate visibility, engage in meaningful dialogue, and actively contribute to shaping the policies that impact our sector.   🌍 Change only happens when we step up, share our perspectives, and collaborate. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my thoughts and to learn from such insightful discussions. My key takeaways from our discussion are: 🔹  The importance of digital transformation in manufacturing for the future strength of European industry 🔹 Sustainable practices and their impact on industry, but with trust instead of constraints. 🔹  The role of advanced technologies in jointly promoting efficiency and growth in international partnerships.   Let’s continue the conversation and work towards a more innovative, sustainable, and competitive manufacturing landscape. This week we meet: Cefriel 📍 Milan, Italy As the coordinator of the M4ESTRO project, Cefriel skillfully steers activities towards creating an innovative platform that enhances active resilience and timely readiness in the manufacturing industry. In which additional activities are they involved? 𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 Since the project's inception, they have concentrated on logistics, making significant strides in the "Resilient Manufacturing Processes" pillar. Their logistics expertise helps them identify and manage disruptions in the supply chain, tackling long delays and goods losses. They have developed Logistic Chain Disruption Indicators which they will continue to evaluate and refine in the coming months. 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻-𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 Starting this month, they have begun leading the "Human-centered Manufacturing Resilience and Sustainability" work-package, ensuring that human factors are at the core of manufacturing resilience and sustainable practices.
