The European chemical industry and 1000+ organisation leaders across Europe, greatly appreciate the European Council's recognition of our call for an urgent response to secure EU’s industrial competitiveness. We welcome their openness to work with stakeholders to build Europe’s industrial policy. This is a strong step forward, but more is yet to come. A core part of the conclusions is the recognition that the Heads of State should also monitor progress and regularly meet on the competitiveness agenda. “It is crucial these key statements are now laid down not only on paper but alsp in the structure and political guidelines for the next European Commission after the #EUelections”. – Marco Mensink, Director General, Cefic #antwerpdeclaration #industrialdeal #competitivenessdeal #greendeal https://lnkd.in/evHcj4TP

We recently presented The Antwerp Declaration, a crucial step in advocating for a European Industrial Deal that addresses pressing economic and environmental challenges. 1000+ organizations across Europe have now signed the declaration. This is a historic moment of unity among business leaders, associations, and trade unions representing diverse sectors. It also underscores the urgent need for collective action to tackle high energy prices, secure raw material supplies, foster innovation and promote sustainable products. The ten key points outlined in The Antwerp Declaration serve as a roadmap to guide us towards a resilient and competitive European industrial landscape, leveraging technology and the single market for sustainable growth. With such a strong coalition, we are calling on EU leaders to integrate these points into the new EU Strategic Agenda and policies, thereby embedding the Industrial Deal into the core of the European Commission's framework. The support garnered for this initiative is a testament to the commitment of European industries towards transformative change. Clarity, predictability and confidence in Europe's industrial policy are essential for driving innovation and sustainability across sectors. Let's continue our work for decarbonization and shaping a greener future for generations to come. #LetsDecarbonize #AntwerpDeclaration #IndustrialDeal
