California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) reposted this
#CALFIRE had many successes and accomplishments in 2024. Here is a quick look at just a few of our proud moments. Emergency Response: Our agency responded to more than 602,000 emergency incidents this year. Wildfire Prevention & Mitigation: Thousands of acres were treated through fuel reduction projects, prescribed burns, and defensible space inspections. New Recruits and Training: We welcomed and trained hundreds of new firefighters and staff, equipping them with the skills needed to respond to California’s evolving fire and emergency needs. Innovation & Resources: CAL FIRE leverages cutting-edge technology, from drones to real-time fire mapping systems, enhancing response times and safety for both firefighters and the public. As we close the chapter on 2024, we extend our gratitude to all CAL FIRE personnel, our partners, and the communities we serve.
