Like every vocation, people who choose the life of a #schoolsafety professional are by and large more capable to help protect students, staff and visitors. It is not enough to have passion to protect our kids, there are skills, experience and talent necessary to lead schools to a safer place. ZeroNow has released a white paper explaining the value of a dedicated "school safety director." Every school needs a dedicated professional responsible and accountable for #schoolsafety and #schoolsecurity. A person school administrators can "count on" to make decisions, prepare policy and direct the operations of school safety / security. Take the time to read this document and you just may see why it is time to consider a bona-fide security professionals in our schools.
In an era where the safety of schools is increasingly under scrutiny, ZeroNow presents a compelling argument for a paradigm shift in how we approach security in educational settings. Our white paper delves into the urgent need for heightened safety measures in American schools, amidst rising concerns about violence, natural disasters, and emergencies. Central to our thesis is the proposition of a new, pivotal role in every U.S. school district: the School Safety Director (SSD). Help me understand. I attended an amazing conference last week with Higher Ed. I learned a ton from some great speakers. However, it seems as most (not all) Higher Ed institutions are not on the same page with security. Inside of one University with 50 buildings there are multiple access control platforms, video surveillance, door hardware, etc...? How is this possible? How is the efficient? Surely, this creates pain with public safety/law enforcement when they need to respond to an incident. Does it boil down to each University needing a champion to bring together silos for the greater good, is there some political force keeping housing, academics, and athletics divided, or is there some security best practice that I'm unaware of in Higher Ed?

For any education stakeholder, five simple questions to illuminate school safety priorities in your state and community schools.👇 1) Does your school board have a standing safe schools oversight committee? 2) Does your district have a curriculum director? 3) How about an athletics director? 4) What about a similarly responsible school safety director? 🤔 5) If so, do they meet a clear national standard set by peers? It's time to realize who owns your district's safe and secure schools program. This white paper makes the case of why we must make it an urgent priority to invest in a School Safety Director. Congratulations and thanks to those involved in advancing this great leap forward for school safety across America. Only the beginning...

🔒 In honor of National Safe Schools Week (October 21-25, 2024), it's important to highlight the ongoing safety challenges campuses face. According to stats compiled by Axon, there were over 27,300 crimes reported on postsecondary education campuses during 2019 and 2020. That’s almost 19 crimes per 10,000 students—ranging from assaults to vehicle thefts. To help deter these incidents, many U.S. campuses rely on blue emergency phones, also known as blue light boxes. These systems provide an essential layer of safety, offering students and staff quick access to emergency help. Is your campus security up to date? Let’s ensure your community is protected with the right solutions. 📞 Let’s Talk About Your Security Needs – Contact us at: https://buff.ly/3TE8ezy #SCG #SCGSecure360Solutions #CampusSafety #CommercialPropertySecurity #POTSSolutions #NationalSafeSchoolsWeek
