This week, we hosted a special meeting with discharged soldiers and national service graduates as part of the "Journey to the Horizon" program, which helps them with the transition from military service to civilian life. Moriya Levin-Yafe, our HR Manager, and Ilan Carasso, our VP of R&D, shared their journeys from military service to their roles at Camtek, highlighting career paths in high-tech and key skills for success. We were proud to take part in this amazing program and share our experience with the next generation. #Camtek #JourneyToTheHorizon #Impact

🇺🇸Today, I stand proud, reminding everyone of the sacrifices made in silence by the men and women serving in our nation’s military. #ArmedForcesDay When hiring veterans, it is important to recognize and appreciate 5 valuable skills they bring from their military service to the civilian workforce. 1. **Leadership** - Service members often receive training in leadership that includes managing teams, making critical decisions under pressure, and inspiring others to work towards common goals. 2. **Discipline** - The structured environment of the military instills discipline, teaching individuals to meet deadlines, follow procedures, and maintain a high level of professionalism. 3. **Adaptability** - Military personnel are accustomed to rapidly changing environments and situations, making them particularly adept at adjusting to new challenges and diverse workplace settings. 4. **Teamwork** - The military emphasizes the importance of teamwork to accomplish missions, which translates well into any collaborative environment in the civilian sector. 5. **Problem-solving** - Facing complex situations in often high-stakes scenarios, service members develop keen problem-solving skills, enabling them to navigate difficulties efficiently and effectively. #Military #HireOurVeterans

Some really great thoughts on #Allyship from Carmen Leishman on behalf of the Veterans Workstream of the Diversity Project - Investment Industry. One point that particularly resonated with me "[veterans] will quickly demonstrate....how integral they can be to your bottom line and how integral they can be to your business". In my experience, whilst those leaving the military may not have experience of the investment management industry, their skillset and training allow them to integrate and add value far quicker than many expect. Allyship means giving veterans the opportunity and time to demonstrate these skills, that will ultimately benefit the businesses in which they work and the industry as a whole.
National Inclusion Week 2024 – Allyship What does allyship mean from a military veterans standpoint? For our veterans workstream allyship means the same as what allyship means to any individual. It's doing the right thing when no one's looking and standing up for and representing individuals when they need you to stand up. Listen to Carmen Leishman talk about how, although CVs from military veterans may appear different, they bring a different set of skills. Veterans can quickly upskill themselves to provide additional capabilities to businesses that are hard to find elsewhere, and need allies to take the time to understand those differences. Some veterans may need a bit of time to fit into an organisation as they may speak in a different way; however, they will very quickly demonstrate how integral they can be to the bottom line and how beneficial they can be to our businesses.
