Only 15% of businesses in the U.K. are female founded 😱 a steep decline and the lowest that figure’s been since before the pandemic.
Up to £250 billion of new value could be added to the UK economy if women started and scaled businesses at the same rate as men.
And in the UK, the insolvency rate is 70% higher in male-run companies!
By supporting female founders, you’re not only helping women succeed – you’re also contributing to economic growth.
The potential economic benefits of empowering female entrepreneurs, calls for action to level the playing field.
That’s why I’m sharing the campaign YOUVE GOT WHAT IT TAKES launched by Female Founders Rise and YeahNice.
I want my daughter and yours to have opportunities in their futures.

It's always a privilege to support Female Founders in their business journey. I am always blown away by their ability to juggle all that they have in life as well as a business.
You’d be on my funding list for sure! I do have a question. How do we get more females on the entrepreneurial journey to create the momentum currently enjoyed by the men. And secondly. Do you think the smaller numbers for female founder investment is based on confidence of the individual?Because if so that is addressable. #curious as >50% of my clients are succesful motivated women
This is such a great campaign. I helped them out with a bit of the copy for it and was staggered by some of these figures. I genuinely had no idea how few businesses are female founded. So much work to do, but with groups/movements like this the positivity is so contagious, it feels like change really can happen.

The Times 100 revealed earlier this week that a quarter of the firms on the list were founded or co-founded by female entrepreneurs, down from 28% in 2023.
This is an issue highlighted in a government-commissioned report earlier this year, which indicates that 2% of equity investment in the UK went to female founders.
“Fewer women apply for funding – and when they do, they are less likely to receive it, and tend to receive significantly less than men."

Did you know that 42% of all U.S. businesses are owned by women?
It's an impressive statistic that highlights the growing influence of female entrepreneurs in our economy.
Even more remarkable is the fact that from 2019 to 2023, women-owned businesses' growth rate outpaced that of men's.
During this period, women-owned businesses added 1.4 million jobs and contributed $579.6 billion to the economy. These numbers demonstrate the significant economic impact of women entrepreneurs.
To all the women-owned businesses out there, these stats are incredible!
If you ever find yourself wanting financial guidance, let me know, I am always here to help.

We are thrilled to see the new Invest In Women Taskforce which has been created to make the UK the best place in the world to be a female entrepreneur.
If women were to start and scale businesses at the same rate as men, that would mean a potential £250bn boost to the UK economy.
Currently, there’s a structural under-representation of female investors and female founders:
Just 11% of VC committee members being women
Only 2% of equity capital going to female-founded businesses
The Invest in Women Taskforce is determined to address the disparity, drive sustainable change and support women at all stages of business growth.
As a female entrepreneur and business founder our CEO, Rebecca Harding, believes passionately in what they are aiming to achieve.
