Women’s Health Hubs and in a report for BBC News England’s Women’s Health Ambassador, Dame Lesley Regan told me dedicated women’s health hubs should be introduced in NI. These one stop shops mean women are seen quicker and in one location. Under one roof there are gynae, mental health, weight&lifestyle therapists - it’s called joined up thinking and personal services. When men are healthy, we all benefit. We all know the value of our health. But, when it comes to our social discourse and investment in health initiatives, men's health is often overlooked. The research tells us that building men's health literacy and health-seeking behaviours – physical, mental and emotional – has a profound positive impact on all areas of society. That's why we're here. Ahead of this year's Men’s Health Week, Healthy Male and the Western Sydney University Centre for Male Health are teaming up to highlight the importance of men's health through building a fun and accessible social discourse and easy, practical ways to improve health engagement and outcomes. https://lnkd.in/gRBmPgSi

International Men's Health Week Research indicates that men are often less likely to seek help for health issues compared to women. This reluctance can lead to preventable health problems and serious consequences. At HVDS, we understand the importance of physical and mental health of our male employees, who make up a significant part of our team. This International Men's Health Week, we are committed to raising awareness and encouraging open conversations about all aspects of health. Remember, taking care of your health is a sign of strength, not weakness. Let's work together to break the stigma and support each other. #MensHealthWeek #Wellbeing #Support #HVDS

A big thanks to Marie-louise Connolly for her tireless dedication to highlighting women’s health issues and driving these vital conversations forward. In a recent BBC News report, England’s Women’s Health Ambassador, Dame Lesley Regan, spoke to Marie-Louise highlighting the potential for dedicated Women’s Health Hubs to transform healthcare here in NI. These ‘one-stop shops’ are already making a difference elsewhere, offering integrated care where women can access services like gynaecology, mental health support, and weight and lifestyle therapies—all under one roof. It’s not just about spending more money—it’s about spending smarter. By adopting joined-up thinking and delivering personalized care, clinicians believe that health outcomes for women can be improved, while being more efficient with resources. With women’s health needs often overlooked or delayed, hubs like these could be a game-changer for faster, more accessible, and holistic care. Let’s hope we can take inspiration from this model and explore how to make it work for women across Northern Ireland. What do you think—could Women’s Health Hubs be the future here?

When you start building a business in healthcare, it's easy to get lost in the complexity of regulations, reimbursement models, provider adaptation challenges, etc., and forget how personal healthcare is for many providers and community members who are working to deliver care. Last week, I had a chance to listen to community members, a school counselor, and healthcare team members who are hard at work supporting youth mental health in Maine. I was moved by their commitment, emotion, and dedication to supporting our youth in their day-to-day challenges in this hyper-isolated environment. Also, our idea for "They're for Me" reminded me how new innovations in the mental health area shouldn't be ground-breaking; actually, they should be quite the opposite. They should be a rejuvenation of some old approaches, such as having meaningful connections with your trusted circle in a new format that matches this new digital era, augmented with a data-driven approach, and supported by an innovative business model that aligns all parties' interests. And yes, the check was big, and of course, our winning team ( Allyson Goida, Emily Morrow) was awesome. Thanks to Terra Dunham, Elena Brondolo MBA, MPH, EdD, The Roux Institute at Northeastern University, and MaineHealth for organizing this Start Summit. #MentalHealth #youth #AIInHealthCare #PopulationHealth #DigitalHealth

What if we could address health and well-being from other perspectives besides that of illness? In honor of Social Prescribing Day on March 14, I attended a panel discussion with leaders in this movement. Social prescribing is a movement towards improving health by connecting patients with social resources within their communities to address a range of health conditions related to mental health, depression and loneliness. These resources can include interventions based in art, movement, nature and social connection. It's a growing field that already takes place in 30 countries and is making its way in the United States, thanks to these leaders. 🌳 Daniel Morse, Managing Director of Social Prescribing USA 🏥 Lori Murphy, Department of Veteran Affairs 🤸♂️ Elizabeth Markle, founder at Open Source Wellness 🎨 Chris Appleton, founder of Art Pharmacy 📖 Deborah Cullinan, VP for the Arts at Stanford University What are your own social prescriptions that you do to address your health? #socialprescribing #community #health #wellbeing #socialhealth #positivepsychology #connection
