#COP29 in 1 minute -8pm Saturday night. People here are very sleep deprived. Some great wins this week, but not a lot of progress on todays main mission - the mitigation works program (MWP)… China has issues supporting it, which roadblocks other items the MWP is fundamental to. In fact I’ll post the amount of progress in the comments below just for a laugh - what more can you do at times like this?? Let’s remember Paris agreement article 6.4 is a win, 6.2 is now simplified from what became 40 pages of unworkable rambles, to 11 pages for our negotiators to be productive with, and 6.8 was released from deadlock thanks to one of Nz’s heroes Jacqui Ruesga this morning, and a tiny bit of progress towards an NCQG (new Collective, quantifiable Goal) on #climatefinance. Our teams have eagerly awaited COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan and we are thrilled to have seven Associates representing Inogen Alliance at events during COP. In the opening speech, COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev stated "We must remember that every action matters. Because every fraction of a degree matters. Every home we loose is a failure. Every life we save is a victory." Our local Associate, Sustainera Solutions has been crucial in making local connections, working with their local ministries and preparing trainings and presentations ahead of the events.
