We're almost there! The countdown to Christmas continues, and today we're flying the flag for both the NORTH AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINAL JUSTICE AGENCY LTD and the Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network. This year at Carbon we have ditched Secret Santa for 'Soulful Santa', with each of us giving a donation to charity instead of a present to each other. Today, our social tile celebrates two donations. The first is from our Account Manager, Lucy, to the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency, who provide law and justice related services that aim to ensure that Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory have real access to justice. The second is from our Senior Account Director, Livia, to Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network, who are building a movement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people for climate justice and a sustainable future, powered by renewable energy. We hope Lucy and Livia's donations can help NAAJA and Seed continue to raise their arms and voices for the needs of First Nations people and communities. If you'd like to join Lucy in donating to NAAJA this Christmas, head to naaja.org.au or join Livia in donating to Seed at seedmob.org.au. And keep an eye on our socials for a new Soulful Santa to be revealed every day in the lead up to our Christmas break. #soulfulsanta #carbonchristmas #christmas2024 #NAAJA #seedmob

We stand ready to welcome people who are being turned away at the border under the Biden Administration’s new order. KBI is coordinating with other organizations and communities in Ambos Nogales who stand ready to welcome the hundreds of people who have been cut off from the asylum process. Nogales is ready. We are proud to be located in a place that has key infrastructure to welcome people who have been turned away. At the same time, we know that we need more resources and partnership to make sure we can accompany people and mobilize Ambos Nogales for local hospitality. We are communicating with local shelters and coordinating with partners like Grupo Beta. Together, we can make sure that the people caught in the crosshairs of the Biden Administration’s extreme actions are welcome with a humane, integrated response. The US and Mexican governments must do their part by freeing up resources so we can make sure we can offer food, shelter, clothing, medical care, and more. You can play a critical role, too. Consider donating funds, volunteering your time, supporting us through prayer, and advocating within your own community for #MigrationWithDignity 🙏🏽 #HumanRights #SupportMigrants #CommunitySolidarity

🌧️ Support for Valencia and Affected Areas in Spain 🌧️ I spent many years in Valencia, building my professional career in close contact with countless farmers and food companies from Valencia and other impacted regions across Spain. Although I am not Valencian by birth, and now I am not living there, a significant part of my life and my heart remain there. Today, more than ever, I feel valencian. There are thousands of families who have lost everything—starting with the most important, their loved ones. This tragedy remind us that solidarity is not just a value; it’s a responsibility. Now, more than ever, it’s time to act and lend a hand to those in need. Below, I’m sharing contact information for the main organizations providing aid to affected families. If you wish to contribute and be part of this effort, here’s how you can make a difference: 🔸 Cruz Roja Española • Contact Number: 900 104 971 • Donations: Transfer to ES44 0049 0001 5321 1002 2225 • Bizum: 33512 • SMS: Send “AYUDA” to 38092 🔸 Cáritas Española • Donations: • Banco Santander: ES45 0049 1892 6421 1055 3738 • Banco Sabadell: ES54 0081 0216 7000 0218 7226 • Bizum: Code 00089 🔸 Banco de Alimentos de Valencia • Collecting food and essential items • Primary Collection Point: Mestalla Stadium Additionally, the Generalitat Valenciana has set up a hotline for families of missing persons: 900 365 112. Every contribution counts, and even the smallest gesture can make a difference in the lives of affected families. Let’s come together and show the unstoppable power of solidarity.

Last week, we had a fabulous visit and full-day workshop with The Salvos in Bourke Street, Melbourne. We learnt that every 17 seconds, someone is helped by the Salvos and at this time of the year, over 3000 meals a week are provided alone at the Bourke Street Project base. We were also relieved that 100% of our donations is directly transferred to the ongoing care and support projects. Good can take countless forms, but the aim remains the same — to inspire people to not only believe in good for themselves and work towards that, but also come together and create change that is good for all. After all, that’s what the Salvos do each day. During our workshops throughout the day, we walked through the inner-city of Melbourne and listened to the real stories of community building and healthy positive changes through the work of over 6000 Salvo Soldiers across Australia. Every day and night, the Bourke Street Project Home is open for all members of the community to visit and create a home. It is so important to consider our own experiences of belonging and the importance of community at this time of the year. Hope, purpose and fulfillment can be everyone’s story, regardless of our circumstance. #Thankyou so much for all that all of you are doing to support and work at The Salvos. #buildingcommunitiesofcare #strenghteningcommunities #festiveseasonspirit #belonging #caringcommunities #givingtoothers

Today I learned that only 3.3% of donations in Canada support Indigenous charities. The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is an opportunity to reflect on the intergenerational impacts of nearly a century of systemic abuse inflicted on Indigenous Peoples, including through the Canadian residential school system. Systemic discrimination, harmful government policies, and racism have created historic and modern injustices and inequalities — including long-term drinking water advisories, unequal access to healthcare and education, mental health crises for young people, and economic inequality. If you're looking to take action to address this, there are many organizations to support: CanadaHelps has an Indigenous Peoples Solidarity Fund, which includes more than 50 Indigenous-led charities from across Canada whose focus ranges from social services to arts and culture. There's also a movement where you can donate One Day's Pay, which is guided by The Circle on Philanthropy, a national Indigenous-led organization that works to transform the philanthropic sector to redistribute wealth, activate wisdom and strengthen organizational infrastructure for the purpose of Indigenous peoples, organizations, communities and nations. You can also amplify Indigenous voices, educate yourself and others, and advocate for systemic change. One Day's Pay, CanadaHelps, Wanda Brascoupe, Orange Shirt Society, Official Orange Shirt Society

👋 Hi everyone! I’ve been volunteering my time for, Project by Project (PbP), a volunteer run nonprofit that focuses on bettering the Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities. As a part of the AAPI community, we are thought of as a monolith and model minority. But I want to help change that narrative as many social problems that affect other groups, affect the AAPI community as well. 🍇 This year, PbP's campaign is to shed light on Food Insecurity in AAPI communities. Food Insecurity is generally defined as “the limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate safe foods” or “limited or uncertain ability to acquire accepted foods in socially acceptable ways.” 🤝 The PbP Los Angeles chapter has partnered with Thai Community Development Center (Thai CDC), a local nonprofit aimed at advocating for social, economic, and political empowerment for underserved populations. Thai CDC is actively addressing Food Insecurity with their East Hollywood Certified Farmers' Market, Prepared Meals Access Program (PMAP), and upcoming Thai Town Marketplace. 🍎 For this month, we are participating in the Give in May fundraising campaign that supports not only PbP, but also, Thai CDC to help them further their goals of promoting access for low income families to locally grown produce and food. If you have the ability to, donate a few dollars toward our goal of raising $6000 for Project by Project and our 2024 nonprofit beneficiary partner, Thai CDC. Valencia is facing a challenging time as recent floods have left communities in southern Spain in urgent need of support. At PQE Group, we are responding by partnering with Action Against Hunger (Acción Contra El Hambre) to deliver vital aid to those affected. In moments like these, swift and collective action can make a world of difference. I’m calling on my network, particularly within the business community, to come together and show that our commitment extends beyond profit—it’s about real, meaningful impact. Here’s How You Can Join Us: • Donate: Each contribution to our campaign with Action Against Hunger goes directly to relief efforts, bringing essentials to those most affected. • Raise Awareness: Use your platforms, your voices, and your networks to spread the word. Every share helps us extend our reach and maximize the impact of this campaign. Your support, whether through a donation or simply sharing this message, can help rebuild Valencia and restore hope. Let’s lead by example and demonstrate the strength of business and community collaboration! Support the campaign here: https://lnkd.in/d_9G8f6f

🌍 International Day of Charity 2024 | Empowering Change Through Collective Giving At THSI, we celebrate International Day of Charity by recognizing the critical role that charity plays in enhancing human security across the globe. In 2024, global donations have reached over $450 billion, highlighting the collective power of giving. Despite these efforts, over 730 million people still live in extreme poverty, many of them vulnerable to climate impacts, conflict, and displacement. Charity is not just about financial aid—it's about creating sustainable solutions that address the root causes of poverty and insecurity. This year’s theme, "Building Stronger Communities Together," emphasizes collaboration in driving social change. 🤝 #InternationalDayOfCharity #HumanSecurity #EmpowerChange #THSI #Sustainability #SocialImpact #CommunityDevelopment

Good cause alert! Check out the great work that Rainforest Saver are doing... They work in Africa and the Amazon to reduce poverty and forest destruction. Our website evaluation has given them some pointers on getting more donations and clearer navigation. If you have a few spare pennies, please send them their way! Nice to be working with the awesome Matt Tutt and Jenny Lyn Mourato. https://lnkd.in/e4YGeGMX #CharityMarketing #ResearchImpact #WebsiteEvaluation

🌍 It’s time to wake up, world. The people of Vanuatu 🇻🇺 are enduring the devastating impacts of climate change and natural disasters they did not cause. Rising threats, extreme weather, and now earthquakes remind us that vulnerable communities are on the frontlines of this global crisis. This is not just about statistics it’s about lives, cultures, and futures at risk. Let’s unite to take bold action, reduce emissions, and protect our planet. Prayers and thoughts for Vanuatu and all vulnerable communities. 🌏 #ClimateAction #PacificIslands #UniteForThePlanet #StoriesOfResilience
ActionAid's Carol Angir was on Sunrise this morning talking about the #Vanuatu earthquake, and the need for Australians to support our neighbours right now. ActionAid's Vanuatu team is on the ground supporting the community with clean water, food and dignity kits, and providing support with shelter. ❗ You can join in solidarity with women in Vanuatu by donating here: https://lnkd.in/eXiPPnQT
