3 fallacies about outsourcing your newsletter: I get a one-size-fits-all package: Wrong. The best operators offer tailored solutions. I'll sacrifice quality: No. Your newsletter operator has a reputation to protect. It's expensive: Nope. It's cost-effective compared to hiring & managing in-house writers or contractors.

I shared this thought on The Proofreader Greenhouse page earlier today, and it got me thinking... 🧠 Isn’t it interesting how doing something over and over can really improve our abilities? Whether it’s getting the hang of a tricky skill, building a habit, or just feeling more confident, sticking with it is where the real growth happens. I’ve noticed that the more transcripts I proofread, the easier it is to spot errors. Even those tricky word pairs and subtle punctuation issues stand out more clearly now. How about you? What’s one area in your life where you’ve seen improvement simply by sticking with it? Let’s chat about it! #proofreading #editing
In our work as proofreaders and editors, every pass through a document, every correction, every client interaction—these are our reps. The more we do, the better we become. 💪 What’s something you’ve improved through repetition (personally or professionally)? 🌱 #ProofreaderLife #EditingExcellence #ProofreadingPower #TheProofreaderGreenhouse

Have you been denied grant funding and not sure why? Let's talk about it! Even the most solid grant applications may not be approved. Why? For several reasons. Funder priorities are constantly changing, the grant you are applying for is wildly competitive, the funding for that particular grant has already been assigned to other applicants. Take the guess work out of your application process by hiring a grant writer and increasing your win rate!

Have you ever had an investigator follow you? If so, I may have edited your surveillance. 🕵♂️ One of my more exciting editing jobs was for an investigative firm in Florida. Clients (major corporations) hired our investigators to follow employees injured on the job to confirm that they could not work (and keep collecting workers’ comp). Our editing team transformed the investigator's (usually terrible) notes into a professional report for the client, with detailed descriptions of any video the investigator took. Here's an example: The claimant was observed standing on the sidewalk jumping up and down in a fluid motion. (I know it’s not exciting, but such an entry – and video! – would be important if the person claimed they could not walk due to a back injury. Also, you wouldn't believe the things people do on their balconies 😲) Investigative firms like this are more common than you think, but one of the things that set us apart was our edited reports. The reports weren't just an added unexpected touch; they made things easy for the clients and their legal teams. This is a small example of how #editing can make a huge difference – even in an industry where you wouldn't expect it. #editor #editingservices
