Asaf Gilboa-Amir is someone you should trust
😉
Asaf is literally one of the most thoughtfully intelligent low-key people I know. He’s had a successful career in leadership roles at organizations such as Amazon and Bridgewater, and is now on a mission to bring trust back into our professional lives
He’s a Co-Founder and the CEO of Grappa.xyz, a reputation-based network connecting founders, investors, and senior talent. It is a trusted environment to meet other high-quality professionals and find opportunities, based on personal endorsements
I’ve known Asaf for over ten years, meeting him at the ROI Summit in Jerusalem (a shoutout to the Schusterman Foundation for always facilitating such great relationships)
As someone who understands the importance of sharing ideas, he's been sending emails for years regarding his thoughts on a number of topics (now posting on LinkedIn), and always has an interesting contrarian take… but in a way that is logical yet matter of fact
One of those ideas is trust
We all understand that #technology is progressing at a faster pace than we are hardwired to not only best utilize, but to even understand it’s implications
The whole idea of trust in our society is broken
Putting aside how this plays out in politics today, this impacts every aspect of our cooperation
In our professional lives this is applicable when somebody applies for a job, or is referred by another person… intrinsically we understand that the way people show up online may not actually reflect their experience (shocker!)
It’s not just about “resume inflation” 😉
Especially today, with how people find a TikTok to justify anything they do, they may not even be ethical
Clearly, I really like using LinkedIn, but IT IS social media, and it can be often times challenging to decipher professional fact from fiction… and so what I love with what he is building is a vetted group of professionals who are committed to being transparent in their interactions, and growing the community that way
It’s been stated before, but we are moving back to the idea of the “village”, where the reputation of what you do is more important than what you say (online)
Asaf believes that “At Grappa, we bring accountability back into the digital world. We are building a reputation network where people endorse others but are held accountable for their endorsements. We want people to endorse only the people they truly believe are great. We incentivize quality, not quantity”
That's where things are moving towards… tightknit groups of people who trust each other, collaborate, and are super-empowered (using tech such as #AI) to catalyze change in the world
But without shared trust, none of this is possible

(P.S. it is still invite-only at this stage but the waitlist is open)
