Do you want to engage and inspire students at your next event? Here's how you can use the Challenge Cards to attract attention and have a deeper conversation! Matthew Purdey at RRC Polytech shares his insights below on how to have a more fun, engaging way to talk about careers. Check it out! SparkPath #challengemindset
The RRC Polytech Inspire Conference is an opportunity for industry and students to network, promote technology and innovation, and be inspired! The conference allows students to gain an understanding of a variety of career paths before graduation and provides industry the opportunity to meet the next generation of talent. At the Work-Integrated Learning and Career Services booth, we used JP Michel's Challenge Cards to INSPIRE students and get them thinking about how they might apply what they are learning in school, to tackle some of the world's biggest challenges. And let me tell you - our booth was busy! Some things I noticed about engaging students this way: 🧠 It got students thinking about career paths in a brand new way ❤ It connected personal values with a sense of purpose 🗣 It equipped students with new language to talk about career interests 💪 It motivated them to learn more about industries, employers, and roles 💥 It broke big questions down into manageable discussion points If you are looking for a fun, engaging, and meaningful way to talk about careers, this is certainly worth a look! #careers #careerdevelopment #jobsearch

What is education, really? Over the past month, I’ve submitted a number of job applications. Each time I scroll to the “Education” section, I can’t help but wish it captured something more. Yes, I have two college degrees, both meaningful milestones. But neither reflects the effort I put into growing my skills and knowledge today. What if this section explored your *ongoing* approach lifelong learning and networking? What about the books you’ve read recently? Insights from the last conference you attended? Or your take on relevant industry debates? Our ongoing skill development should be just as relevant—if not more so—than what we studied years ago. #lifelonglearning #education #edtech
