非常榮幸能夠獲得有線電視HOYTV的邀請,參加"財智.商傳"節目,與大家分享香港展覽業的現狀及未來發展。儘管我們的展覽在展商數量及參觀人次方面已經恢復到疫情前的水平,但隨著香港在地理及專業領域的優勢,以及展覽場館的持續擴建,我對我們展覽業的未來發展充滿期待,深信將會更加繁榮昌盛。 I am truly honored to have received an invitation from Cable TV HOYTV to participate in the “財智.商傳”program, where I will share insights on the current state and future development of the exhibition industry in Hong Kong. Although the number of exhibitors and attendees at our exhibitions has already returned to pre-pandemic levels, I am optimistic about the future of our industry, given Hong Kong's geographical and professional advantages, as well as the continuous expansion of exhibition venues. I recently did a quick analysis for one of my clients, putting the German trade shows they attend in a matrix: I looked at the number of exhibitors, the main product groups represented at the shows, the number of trade visitors plus the economic sectors (%) they represent, and some other information. The matrix served as a tool to better understand what to generally expect from particular shows and to streamline pre-show activities. This is a quick and easy exercise if you know where to get the data from. You can use the AUMA - Association of the German Trade Fair Industry database free of charge. However, to get the right "feel" for a show, you need to go visit. This is why I quite often attend shows, even when they are not (yet) particularly relevant to me. The UK’s exhibition industry continues to showcase resilience, creativity, and growth - according to the latest research by the Events Industry Alliance Ltd. 💥 Conducted with The NEC, Birmingham and other UK venues, the 2023 SASiE research confirms the exhibitions industry is on a promising post-pandemic path to growth and recovery. 🤝 2023 key highlights include: 🚀 16% increase of exhibiting companies per event. 📈 51% of exhibitions held at primary venues were 8,000m2+. 🧑🏽🤝🧑🏽 Largest average number of visitors at exhibitions in primary venues – 66% of all visitor numbers. 🧑🏽🤝🧑 Ian Taylor said: “The trade generated from the thousands of exhibitions that take place every year across the UK proves that that our industry is a successful, key driver of economic activity." Following positive feedback from exhibitors and visitors to OTS over the last three years, the organisers are pleased to announce the venue dates until 2027. The future dates for the Outdoor Trade Show (OTS) have been finalised for the next three years to keep OTS at the popular venue of the Exhibition Centre, Liverpool. Following the show this year from 18th - 20th June and avoiding a future clash with ISPO in Germany, OTS will take place on the following dates over the next three years: 2025 - 10th - 12th June 2026 - 2nd - 4th June 2027 - 1st - 3rd June Liverpool is increasingly becoming a desirable venue for exhibitions, conferences and events with many trade and consumer shows choosing the popular venue, so it was important for the longevity of the show to secure future dates which align with buying deadlines as well as giving exhibitors and trade visitors plenty advance notice of the dates to make plans.
