The Carlyle Consumer Lunch was recently hosted at the innovative The Port of Leith Distillery, a new nine storey vertical distillery based in Leith and the first of its kind in Scotland. We welcomed a number of business leaders, with a range of industries represented, to provide a diverse outlook on the industry. The event involved an entertaining and informative distillery tour followed by lunch where we were delighted to be joined by Founder and Co-CEO Ian Stirling who kindly shared the amazing journey they have been on over the last eight years to get to this stage. Like all start-ups, it has not been without its challenges(!), but the resilience and good humour shown throughout by Ian along with the unwavering belief that they are creating a truly differentiated product was inspiring.
