"Georgia: Elections marred by uneven playing field, pressure and tension, but voters offered a wide choice, say international observers." Georgian Dream seems to have fallen short of winning a "constitutional majority," 3/4 of parliamentary seats. Election abuses appear to be considerable. But they might not be on a scale that would cause the US to refuse to accept the vote as legitimate, as the US did in 2004 in Ukraine when huge election fraud sparked Orange Revolution street protests. Objections of some in Georgia to the electoral outcome could be substantial. Despite abuses giving Georgian Dream advantages, its margin of victory was not great. The opposition may assert that it would have won a free and fair election. https://lnkd.in/espMWbkJ
