Here's a video of drop wires!
Jakob Müller Group NCE loom again . Watch the path the warp ends take through the loom. Each end has a metal drop wire on it. When an end breaks the drop wire drops on a metal bar which shuts the loom off. 🤩

Meyerhof provided solution that can solve for the bearing capacity in year 1963. This solution is applicable to shallow foundation regardless of the load inclination. The form of the Meyerhof’s equation is similar to that proposed by Terzaghi, except that several factors are introduced to take the footing shape, depth and load inclination into consideration. A very educational experience for a newbie in the glass industry.
🔔🔊 𝐓𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐨, 𝐎𝐡𝐢𝐨, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐒'𝐬 𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥, 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 During these five days, participants acquired a global overview of key #glass technologies from raw materials to the end of the melting process, learned how to react when redox-based issues occur in heat transfer, fining, foaming, and glass color, recognized solid and gaseous defects to solve potential crises, and gained the knowledge and skills required to understand current and future challenges, as well as a variety of ideas to optimize the process. Visits to the NSG Group-Pilkington flat glass factory in Rossford one of the longest running flat glass factories in the US, the Libbey Toledo Plant and the Toledo Museum of Art, where participants experienced glassblowing demonstrations and admired more than 70 examples of glass art pieces, were one highlight of this course. Thanks to all the participants for their contribution! #training #glassproduction #glassmanufacturing

Industry Jargon of the Day! No Freight Aisle: Aisles that must be clear at all times during setup and dismantling. Coming out of covid, there have been a lot of new people working in the trade show industry mostly on the exhibitor side that could benefit from this. This is from an article in Exhibitor "Your Passport to Industry Jargon: An Inexhaustive Glossary Guide" written by Danelle Dodds Side note: "No Freight Aisle is an expo hall aisle that is kept clear of crates, boxes, trash, and other exhibitor materials during the show's installation and dismantle (setup and teardown). This aisle is used by forklift drivers and other equipment operators to deliver materials, take away empty crates, and as a way to exit the hall in case of an emergency." Next Flow and Fracture of Advanced Glasses Workshop will be in France in 2027
I'm excited to have participated in the 8th International Workshop on Flow and Fracture of Advanced Glasses (FFAG8) in Tokyo! It was an incredible opportunity to explore the latest breakthroughs in glass mechanics and engage in insightful discussions with researchers from around the world. Looking forward to reconnecting with everyone at FFAG9 in France in 2027.

For years, we at EKF have proudly aligned ourselves with the values and principles championed by the Fair Position Association, dedicating ourselves more and more to our shared mission with each passing year. A decade ago, a visionary group of electrical equipment manufacturers and distributors came together to form this Association, united by a common goal: to uphold the tenets of fair competition, transparent sales, and to conduct business free of under-the-table dealings — all within the bounds of legal integrity. As these core values have become woven into the very fabric of our operations, the Association's focus has expanded to tackle even bolder objectives. Our fervent stance against counterfeit products in the electrical market, advocating for the rights of consumers impacted by inferior goods, and safeguarding trademark owners' rights are just a few of the initiatives we've thrown our full support behind. I'm humbled and thrilled that my peers recognize EKF's dedication to these efforts. Last year, EKF earned a seat on the Board of the Fair Position Association, ushering in a new chapter of collaborative success. Join me in celebrating this milestone at the #FPA landmark annual meeting on April 19 in St. Petersburg — an event that promises to spark connections and drive our industry forward. Are you attending? Let's discuss how we can advance our collective vision of a fair, transparent market. #FairPosition #ElectricalEquipment #BusinessinRussia #BusinessDevelopment

I am presenting a paper and a poster at the ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and ASME International Gas Turbine Institute Turbo Expo in London. Both the paper and poster are from my DPhil work. I am studying how dissociated carbon monoxide reacts with film cooling on the turbine nozzle guide vanes. The heat from the reaction increases the blade temperature and causes durability concerns. An increase in temperature of about 25-30K can reduce the blade's life by half.
